The reguls.r meeting of the Boarc[ of Trustees was.held at the Mesie~ <br />H.omestead on Wednesday Evening ~rch, 5th. I947 at 7,~O P.M. · <br /> <br />Tl~ose present; Trustee Paget, Riley, Kane, Berinato, Terwilliger,Acting <br />M~yor Temple, Treas. LeRoy, Atty. Sohofield. Absent Mayor H. MoCafferty. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order. Roll call. The minutes of the previous <br />regular meeting were read. Upon motion by Trustee Riley and seconded by <br />Trustee PagEt the minutes stand adopted as read. <br /> <br />Ac'ting Mayor Temple announced that the regular order, of business~ will be <br />dispense with in order to hear from those present who wishes to speak be- <br />f0~e the members of~ the Board. <br /> <br />Trhstee Kane announced that the. Gemtleman representing the Drain Pipe Co. <br />is'present to ascertain if the Board is interested on the purchasing of <br />drain pipe for the Nelson Ave. drain which has been discussed at several <br />meeting. The members of the board question the price of pipe and went <br /> into details concerning the drain and the cost of the pipe. The question <br />came before the meeting on consulting the town board of the ~own of Pough- <br />keepsie to ascertain if they would not be willing to share some of this <br />expense as the water is diverted from the town land into the vlll~e. <br /> <br />Motion was offeredby Trustee Berinato and seconded by Trustee Kane we hold <br />the question of purchasing pipe at .abeyance until we get in touch with the <br />town Supt. of Highways Mr. Meier. <br /> <br /> The regular order of business was again taken up as recorded. <br /> <br /> ~2786. Police Justice Begg report for ~he month of February'was read ann- <br /> ou~cing that the sum of $ 96.00 collected in fines and bonds were sent to <br /> State Dept. as to comply with the new law. Motion by Trustee Paggi and <br /> seconded by Trustee Riley the report be accepted as read. <br />$ 2~87. Dr. O'Brien health.officer submitted the following report,During the <br />mon!h of February there se~med to be the usual amount of illness for the <br />month. The latter part of the month there was an outbreak of grippe which <br />w~slpredicte~ for arrival earlier in the winter. One case of s~arlet fever <br />was .reported to the Health officer it was of mild type and no other cases <br /> were reported. I also came in contact with quite a few cases of s~rep~oc- <br /> oc~us throats. A sample of wate~ was collected and sent to Albany an~ the <br /> report received was satisfactory as usual. No complaints received. Motion <br /> by Trustee Paggi and .seconded by Trustee Terwilliger the repor~ be accept- <br /> ed as read. <br /> <br />$ 2ySg. A communication was received from the W.T.Garner Eng. Co.#I anno~a- <br />o~ngithat the following were wleoted to active membership. Chas. H.Dodge, <br />John Doddona,Sldney A.Shapiro. Also requesting a five years exemption <br />certificate for Robert Temple Sr. Motion by Trustee Berina~o and seconded <br />by Trustee Kane the m~embers be confirmed and the certificate granted. <br /> <br />$2y89. A com~unicatioh was received from the S.W. Johnson Eng. Co.$2 announ- <br /> cing that Williams Hollihan was elected to active membership and the Rev. <br /> John J. Loughlin was'ad~itted as honrorary member and chaplain of the <br /> c crop any. <br /> <br /> ~2790. a communication was read from the S.~.Johnson Eng. Co.~2 announ- <br />cing that the following were elected to active membership. Joseph Boiley, <br /> and Joseph Cinelli.. Also announcing that Andrew Roda~ and Rudolph Camp- <br /> illi were dropped ~rom the company roll. Motion by Trustee Kane ar~ sec- <br /> onded by Trustee Berinato the members be confirmed and the action of the <br /> company removal of members be ratified. <br /> <br /> <br />
