· MINUTES OF PLANNING BOARD <br /> <br />-2- 8/3/06 <br /> <br />Next on the agenda was the appearance from Main Technical Services to be able to use space at 24 Old <br />Route 9 for their business. Mr. Cappelli stated applicant had submitted a description of their use. <br />Originally the building was going to be used by the Rennha~k Cousins as a retail business selling <br />swimming pools and rent the rest of the building. Main Technical Services will now rent the entire <br />building. MTS is a supplier of surveying and engineering instrumentation, GPS, CAD software, <br />scanning instrumentation and related supplies to the surveying, e~neering and construction markets: <br />They have three locations; i.e., Maine, Massachusetts and Syracuse. They also office training and <br />support to their customers - each location features a training seminar room. They anticipate the <br />Wappingers staff will max out at 10 employees. Initially there will be four people attached to the site. <br />They create very little traffic due to the fact that much of their equipment is delivered to the customer's <br />place of business. It was stated that parking had been previously calculated end this use conforms to <br />the parking and it is an allowed use. Mr. Alfonso made a motion to approve the proposal by Main <br />Technical Services, seconded by Mr. McCormick. Unanimously carded. <br /> <br />Next the sign was discussed. It was stated that the sign would be wood, it would be painted green and <br />the lettering would be carved into the sign with 23 caret gold leaf. It was stated that the location <br />would also be engraved into the sign - although it may be painted white. Applicant explained to Board <br />where on the site the sign would be located. It was stated that the applicant had the option of having <br />the sign uplit if they chose to do so - and they were warned that lights should only spray on sign - not <br />surrounding property. It was stated that the Code Enfment Officer would coordinate with the <br />applicant where on the property sign would be - to make sure it was not a safety issue. Mr. Alfonso <br />made a motion to approve the sign contingent upon Code Enforcement Officer verifying where on the <br />property sign would be located. Motion seconded by Mr. Moran. Unanimously carded. <br /> <br />VANACORE, I)EBENEI)ICTUS. DIBOVANNI AND WEI)ELL. 2582 SOUTH AVENUE <br />Next on the agenda was the proposal from Vanacore, DeBenedictus, DiGovanni and Wedell to discuss <br />their move to the Chamber of Commerce building located at 2582 South Avenue. Applicant stated <br />they would be occupying 750 sq. ft. of the second floor oftbe building. At this particular time there <br />would be only four employees with the possibility of a fifth one coming inthe near futttre. The only <br />other occupant of the building is the Chamber of Commerce. At this point Mr. Alfonso interjected that <br />the Code Enforcement Office was asked to circumvent the law - bypass the Planning Board - so the <br />applicant could move in quicker. The Code Enforcement Officer bad actually received a call from the <br />Mayor asking if this was possible. The Mayor was told the procedures that had to be followed in this <br />case were no different than any other applicant. This is on no way a reflection on the applicant. Mr. <br />Morris stated he would like to continue this discussion later in the meeting. Mr. Moran made a motion <br />granting permission for the applicant to move into the second floor of 2582 South Avenue, seconded by <br />Mr. Alfonso. Unanimously carded. <br /> <br />Next the sign was discussed. At, er reviewing the permit application it was determined that all <br />conformed to code. Applicant stated the sign would be located on the present road sign and would be <br />black and white. It would be a wood sign. Mr. Alfonso made a motion to approve the sign as <br />presented, seconded by Mr. Moran. lJnanimously carded. <br /> <br />JADE PALACE. BANK PLAZA. ROUTE 9 <br />Next on the agenda was the change of ownership for the Jade's Palace. The only change will be <br />interior changes - he would be changing counters and adding a Sushi Bar. He has also scheduled a Fire <br />Inspection with the Code Enforcement Officer. Applicant stated he would/be working with the Code <br /> <br /> <br />
