MINUTES OF PLANN1NG BOARD <br /> <br />-2- 2/2/06 <br /> <br />BROWNS GIFT SHOP~ 2691 WEST MAIN STREET <br />Next on the agenda was the proposal By Brown's Gift Shop for a sign at 2691 West Main <br />Street. Applicant stated sign would be a double sided hanging sign - made of wood- with <br />no illumination. The Board reviewed the proposal for conformance to the Code and <br />stated all conformed to code. Applicant presented a color sample of the burgundy color <br />of the sign but did not bring in a color of the pink that was in the sign - applicant was <br />instmctad to bring in a sample of the pink color for inclusion in the file. At this point Mr. <br />Alfonso made a motion to approve the sign as presented contingent upon applicant <br />supplying a color sample for the pink color - motion seconded by Mr. Moran. <br />Unanimously carried. <br /> <br />HIP HOP SENSATIONS~ 2554 SOUTH AVENUE <br />Next on the agenda was the application of Hip Hop Sensations for a proposed sign and <br />allowable use at 2554 South Avenue. The use was discussed first. Applicant stated he <br />wanted to operate a retail store to sell clothing, footwear, hats, etc. He presented the <br />Board with a layout of the store. He stated his hours of operation would be Monday <br />through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 to 7:30 p.m., and <br />Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It was stated that the retail use is an allowable <br />usage at that location and therefore Mr. Moran made a motion to approve the use as a <br />clothing store, seconded by Mt-. Alfonso. Unanimously carried. <br /> <br />The sign was discussed next. Applicant stated he would be just replacing the existing <br />signs (building and road sign) using the same colors - with his signs. He also stated that <br />the building sign is down lit and the road sign has spotlights shining up on the sign. Mr. <br />Moran made a motion to approve both sigus as presented, seconded by Mr. Alfonso. <br />Unanimously carded. <br /> <br />DREAMS NIGHTCLUB~ DUTCHESS SHOPPING PLAZA <br />Next on the agenda was the appearance by owners of DREAMS to legitimize their site. <br />plan in the Dutchess Shopping Plaza. It was stated that Mr. Zipparo had legitimized all <br />issues from the Building Dept. - therefore occupancy will stay at 500 persons. Mr. <br />Liebermann, Fire Inspector for the Village stated that the sprinkler system has been <br />certified and the fire alarms had also been certified. At this point Mr. Moran made a <br />motion to legitimize the former existing site plan for the DREAMS nightclub - motion <br />seconded by Mr. Alfonso. Unanimously carried. <br /> <br />ESCAPE NIGHTCLUB~ DUTCHESS SHOPPING PLAZA <br />Next on the agenda was an appearance by Escapes Night Club to occupy the former <br />Dreams Nightclub. Mr. Morris stated in reviewing the presentation he noticed that the <br />applicants mentioned they were planning on having Theme Nights - would these be adult <br />theme ~fights and applicants answered no they were not. Mr. Morris then asked what the <br />threshold would be before owners called police to have someone removed from the <br />premises. Applicant stated if someune is visibly intoxicated and does not leave premises <br /> <br /> <br />
