MINUTES OF PLANNING BOARD -2-

6/2/05

At this point Mr. Alfonso stated that he has been in this community all his life - and on
the Planning Board for 14 years and he resents the fact that the Juliano family always
accuses the Planning Board of not being "business friendly." He went on to state that he
has not voted once against having a new business coming into this community and he
would like that statement on the record.

RIMS ON RIDES~ DUTCHESS SHOPPING PLAZA
Next on the agenda was the sign permit application for Rims on Rides in the Dutchess
Shopping Plaza. Mr. Uhle presented his sign permit and a color sample of the sign - he
stated he would be putting up the exact same size sign as was previously there (Mid
Hudson Flooring). Discussion followed on correct frontage and it was stated that this
could be determined and confirmed by the Code Enforcement Officer. At this point Mr.
Alfonso made a motion to approve the sign contingent upon the Code Enforcement
Officer verifying the correct frontage and making the determination that the sign is within
the code. Motion seconded by Mr. Moran. Unanimously carried.

SARA JANE GOLDBERG~ 2545 SOUTH AVENUE
Next on the agenda was the sign permit application for Sara Jane Goldberg, DDS located
at 2545 South Avenue. She stated she had been there since 1981 - changed her sign three
times and did not realize she needed a permit or Planning Board approval for the new
signs. After reviewing her permit for conformance to codes - discussion followed on the
type of lighting she could use if she so desired in the future. It was determined that the
only type of lighiing the Board would approve would be coach lights on the sides of the
sign. It was also stated that the Code Enforcement Officer would determine if her lights
would conform to the Planning Board's request. Mr. Alfonso made a motion to approve
her sign contingent upon applicant fully completing the application and having Code
Enforcement Officer approve and lighting. Motion seconded by Mr. Moran.
Unanimously ca~ied.

PAT MCNAMEE TO DISCUSS BUSINESS IN THE VILLAGE OF
WAPPINGERS FALLS
No one was at the meeting

WINDSOR MACHINERY COMPANY~ LOWER HIGH STREET
Next on the agenda was the proposal from Windsor Machinery Corporation for a shed at
the end of High Street. Mr. Terbush stated the shed had been in existence since 1996.
Mr. Brutfing stated there was no permit in the file for this shed. He went on to state that
since he was not the Code Enforcement Officer at that time he cannot ascertain whether
or not a building permit was needed. He went on to say that he had contacted the Dept.
of State and they told him if he could not determine of a permit was necessary at that time
- he should require a permit now and do the necessary inspections to legalize the
structure. Mr. Terbush stated what he did back in 1996 was go to the Building Inspector
at the time and discuss with him - he was told to get a blasting permit but because it was
a small shed - the building inspector at that time told him he did not need a permit.
