MINUTES OF PLANNING BOARD -2- <br /> <br />10/2/03 <br /> <br />the road sign lit - is because if it is not lit - he will not look open. Applicant went on to <br />state he fee] s he is reducing the current stgnage - he is eliminating the two logos on both <br />sides and reducing the size of the road sign. The words "service center" is not lit - it is a <br />decal. It was stated that applicant would be willing to have the ~'Shell" on the canopy - <br />not illuminated Applicant was again reminded to keep the wattage to as low as possible. <br />Planning Board also asked applicant for exact color samples of signage. Mr. Morris also <br />stated that because of the reduction in signage - the Planning Board would extrapolate <br />the exact sq. footage of what the applicant is requesting. At a fasl glance Mr. Morris <br />stated he does not think it exceeds what is allowed. Applicant stated there would be no <br />illumination of pricing letters. To sum up the application - (I) Change from Texaco to <br />Shell - color scheme changed from black/red to yellow/red, (2) Canopy signs (Shell on <br />both sides) will be non-illuminated, (3) the Planning Board has rejected the proposed <br />twin post/goal post type of road sign and stated replacement of what is existing, (4) <br />Applicant must produce copy of variance for additional signs (if it exists) and if there is <br />no variance - applicant must get a variance for third sign, - if applicant cannot produce <br />variance - he has the option of eliminating one sign. <br /> <br />At this point Mr. Alfonso made a motion to reject the pole sign - twin post/goal post type <br />road sign, seconded by Mr. Moran. Unanimously carrie& <br /> <br />Mr. Alfonso made a motion to grant approval for two signs - co,orate colors as <br />presented - road ~ign to remain the existing size - contingent upon applicant supplying <br />Board with waltag~:of bulbs and exact color samples and applicant reminded if he cannot <br />produce a variance for more than two signs - he has the option of applying to the ZBA <br />for a variance. Motion seconded by Mr. Moran. Unanimously carried. <br /> <br />LIBERTY AUTO SALES~ MARSItALL ROAD <br />Next on the agenda was the proposal from Liberty Auto Sales to be able to increase the <br />number of vehicles on his property from 15 to 35 vehicles - applicant is currently <br />pursuing a variance fr6m the ZBA for this request. Applicant presented the plan with a <br />sketch plan of what the lot would look like along with pictures with the additional <br />vehicles. It was stated that the parking spaces must be 9'x 18'. Mr. Moran asked <br />applicant if he was securing any additional acreage and he stated no he was not. It was <br />stated that according to the sketch - the applicant would have open space and he plans to <br />keep it as open space. The sketch was reviewed by both the Planning Board and the <br />applicant. Mr~ Morris asked Mr. Kolb if there were any concerns from Fire ChiefPaino <br />and he answered he has not given the sketch to him for review. Mr. Morris' had a <br />concern about'ingress for fire apparatus and Mr. Kolb pointed out where he felt would be <br />the best place for emergency vehicles and Mr. Morris felt comfortable with it - although <br />he does want the Fire Chief to take a look at the plan for his review. Applicant stated he <br />does not own the property but he is negotiating a five year lease with the owner. He also <br />presented the Board with a letter from the property owner acknowledging the fact that he <br />was aware of what the applicant's intention was.
