The Board wanted to give the applicant a "heads up" that <br />he may have to take the sign down in 1-3 years because of the new ordinances. At this <br />point in the hearing Mr. Alfonso made a motion to approve the sign as presented with the <br />contingency that (1) the Planning Board have documentation from Mobil that they <br />understand that new sign ordinances are currently being worked on and they will have to <br />adhere to these new ordinances in whatever timeframe that will be approved, (2) no sign <br />can be altered/erected until the Planning Board receives this letter. Mr. Moran seconded <br />the motion. Unanimously carried <br /> <br />RICHARD FISHER FOR BEAUTY PARLOR AT 2693 WEST MAIN STREET <br /> <br />Next on the agenda was the appearance of Mr. Richard Fisher with a proposaI to be able <br />to have a beauty salon in the remaining 550 sq. fi. area of 2693 West Main Street. Mr. <br />Fisher stated at the ~ast meeting he was at it was stated that the current parking area has <br />spots for 10 vehicles which covered what was currently there but did not cover the <br />remaining 550 sq. ft. of 2693 West Main Street. He went on to state that what he actually <br />has is 12 spots and Mr. Kolb had done a visual inspection of the area. Mr. Fisher than <br />told the Board that in front of all three buildings he owns there are also 7 on street <br />parking spaces. It was again stuted that the other business at this location is a "Travel <br />Agency." Mr. Morris stated he would like concurrence from the Zoning Enforcement <br />Officer that the use is an allowed use for the area. Applicant was also informed he wouM <br />have to meet with our Plumbing Inspector to obtain all the necessary permits. At this' <br />point Mr. Alfonso made a motion to allow the Beauty Salon contingent upon (1) Mr. <br />Kolbs concurrence of the parking and (2) assurance it is an allowed use for the area. <br />Motion seconded by Mr. Moran. Unanimously carried <br /> <br />The sign was next discussed It was stated that it is a single faced sign - mounted on the <br />building with no illumination. Applicant had a color sample of the sign which he <br />described as pinlc It will be a rectangle sign with rounded corners and black letters. He <br />stated it would be made of wood It was stated that the sign conforms to code. At this <br />point Mr. AlJbnso made a motion to approve the sign contingent upon a copy of the sign <br />being approved by Mr. Kolb, seconded by Mr. Moran. Unanimously carried <br /> <br />THOMAS BORGIA, AUTO REPAIR SHOP~ 2755 WEST MAIN STREET <br />Next on the agenda was the application of Mr, Thomas Borgia to be able to operate an <br />Auto Repair Shop at 2755 West Main Street. It was stated that Mr. Borgia is already <br />operating his repair shop at this location. Applicant stated he is aware of the conditions <br />of the variance which was granted to a previous owner on 9/22/95 (a copy of this <br />variance is made part of these minutes). He also stated he did not rent the space behind <br />the garage -just the bays and the parking spaces in front of the bays. His normal <br />operation is 8:00 a.m. through 6:30p. m. (Monday through Saturdays) and once in <br />awhile for a few hours on Sunday. Mr. Alfonso asked about the gate to the rear and Mr. <br />Borgia stated it is open now and snowed open. Mrs. Chase stated that Mr. Garcha does <br />rent spots in the rear for parMng and applicant stated he has nothing to do with what's <br />behind the gate. Applicant stated he is doing no auto body work just repairs and all <br /> <br /> <br />
