Planning B~ard -2- 5/3/01 <br /> <br />Next on the agenda was the appearance by U.N Chen with an application for a sign <br />permit. Mr. Visentin stated the sign application is within code and he sees no problems <br />with it. It was stated that the sign was shown on the building plans. The proposal is for <br />a wall sign for Dunkin Donuts only - no Baskin Robbins. It was stated that sign <br />conforms to code. Mr. Alfonso made a motion to accept the sign as presented, minus the <br />Baskin Robbins, seconded by Mr. Consentino. Unanimously carried. Applicant was <br />informed he would have to come into the Zoning Office to pay for the permit. <br /> <br />ROBERT JULIANO~ 2776 WEST MAIN STREET <br />Next item on the agenda was the informal appearance by Robert Juliano for renovations <br />to above address. Mr. Juliano presented Board with a sketch of his proposal. He stated <br />he had a leak in his roof and it needed to be repaired. He decided to put a hip roof onto <br />the building and by doing this it would be cheaper and look better. Mr. Visentin stated <br />because the building/use is non-conforming he would have to go to the ZBA and let them <br />know he has a non-conforming structure which is wants to repair. Mr. Juliano stated he <br />hca a leak in the roof at the present time and he would like to get started as soon as <br />possible, Mr. Visentin stated the Planning Board cannot give approval without approval <br />from the ZBA. Mr. ,Iuliano asked if he could do a temporary repair for the roof until all <br />approvals are in place and Mr, Visentin stated he had no objection to this. After further <br />informal discussions, Mr. Karge made a motion to accept Mr. Juliano 's plans as <br />submitted taking into consideration the hardship caused by a leaking roof and allowing <br />him to make temporary repairs to roof while awaiting ZBA approval. Mr. Consentino <br />seconded the motion. Unanimously carried. <br /> <br />MICHAL KOCAN~ 2703 WEST MAIN STREET <br />Next on the agenda was the informal appearance by Mr. Michal Kocan to be able to <br />black top driveway at above address. Mr. Visentin stated applicant has already graded <br />the parking lot and has had conferences with our Highway Supt. To discuss the best way <br />to do job and the conclusion was as long as it was pitched towards Church Street it <br />would satisfy Highway Supt. 'Mr. Visentin stated he has no concerns on the parking lot or <br />the way the water will run. Mr. Kocan stated he wouM also be blacktopping his adjacent <br />property. Mr. Visentin went on to state there is a significant drop off where the proposed <br />curbing will be. The reason for the curbing is to capture any of the water that may tend <br />to run over the drop off and direct it off towards Church Street. Applicant stated at this <br />time he is bringing in more Item #4. Mr, Karge asked applicant ifhe plans to blacktop <br />entire lot because if he does not when it rains the gravel will wash downstream and <br />'eventually end up in our sewer system. Applicant stated he intends to blacktop. <br /> <br />Mr. Visentin stated there is another consideration that applicant would like to discuss. <br />About two years or so ago applicant appeared before the Planning Board when he <br />initially bought the building and had a proposal to open a motorcycle parts store on one <br />side and a coffee shop on the other side. Applicant has proceeded with doing renovations <br />to the inside of the building- mostly painting and cleaning up. Applicant had intended <br />originally to get the stores open up sooner but he took whatever finances he had and <br /> <br /> <br />
