Public Hearing held on Monday, April 16,198H at 7:00 p.m.
at the American Legion Hall on Spring Street.

Present: Mayor Sy~ett, Trustees Carey, Costa, Cioppa, and
Mazochi; Att'y Reilly, and Treasurer Campilii.
Also present: Gerald Delaney, and Frank Savelli.
Treasurer Campilii presented the proposed tentative 198~-'85
budget. He reported that there had been an increase in the
village tax base and that revenues to be raised approximated
$950,000. Present p~oJections called For an increase of
$7.56 per thousand for an overall levy of $60.06 per thousand.
There were no questions or comments from the public.

The Board scheduled a meeting with the Treasurer for Tuesday,
April 17,198~ at 8:00 p.m. at the Village Hall for further
discussion regarding possible reductions.

Motion by Trustee Mazochi, seconded by Tr. Costa that Gerald
Delaney and Frank Savelli be appointed clerk o' the works for
the firehouse projects at W.T. Garner and S.W. Johnson respect-
ively. -carried.

Imperial Gdns.
Meeting with Hr. George Angel of Imperial Gardens Co. in
reference to proposed expansion.

Also present: Water Commissioners Catalano, and Chase, ~nd
Fire Chi®f Farrello
Mr. Angel stated that the Imperial Gdns. Co. anticipated
building about 75 units on approximately HE next to Imperial
Towers. He stated that they had not as yet determined whether
to build several two and three-story townhouses or to construct
fewer~four-storybuildings.

Trustee Mazochi complimented the Co. on the generally improved
condition of the~property, and pointed out that any structur~es
would have to comply with the new state fire code.

Mr. Angel said that the buildings were plan~ed to be built of
pre-stressed concrete and to be largely fireproof.

Chief Farrell stated that in his view, the main problem would
be ensuring adequate water supply and pressure in the lines.
He observed that the there had been significant problems in
responding to fires at that location in the past, necessitating
assistance from many other companies; and that hooking a pumper
to the hydrant would seriously inhibit the ®ffecti~eness of any
interior sprinkler system. He stated that in his opinion,
additional expansion of the complex would require the construct-
ion of either a water tower or another line to loop the system.

Commis~oner Catalano mentioned that there was a pressure pump to
maintain water pressure in the buildings.

Trustee Mazochi pointed out that the pumps would not function~
if there were an interruption in power.
