MINUTES OF PLANNING BOARD -2- 10/4/07

Mr. Kolb. Unanimously carried. The Planning Board did state that it liked the sign and also the
colors.

IMPERIAL PLAZA – ROAD SIGN – NEW HACKENSACK ROAD
No one showed up for the meeting.

AVON, 2696A WEST MAIN STREET
Next on the agenda was the application of Karen Gardner to be able to use 2696A West Main Street for
her Avon business and free lance writing and also for a sign. It was mentioned that she had painted the
front door and that a color sample must be brought into the office – since the Board has already seen
the door – and allow the Code Enforcement Officer to take a look at it to make sure it is conforming
with the Architectural Review Board. Mr. Kolb made a motion to allow her to use the building for her
Avon business and free lance writing business, seconded by Mr. McCormick. Unanimously carried.
Next the sign was discussed – Ms. Gardner brought the actual sign to the meeting. It was light blue and
she was instructed to bring a color sample of the sign for the files. It was stated that she would be
allowed 7.2 sq. ft. of signage and that her sign was well below what was allowed. She also asked if she
could put a temporary sign up in the window and she was informed that the Code Enforcement Officer
would be able to help her with that. She stated there would be no lighting for her sign. Mr.
McCormick made a motion to approve the sign, seconded by Mr. Moran contingent upon the
following: (1) how will the sign be mounted, (2) a new application would have to be filled out which
needs to include all dimensions, (3) owner's signature must be on application, (4) all color samples
must be brought to the office, (5) hours of operation must be on file. Motion was unanimously carried.

ROBERTS CONTRACTING, BANK PLAZA
Next on the agenda was the application of Roberts Contracting to be able to use space in the Bank
Plaza for their business and also for a sign. The use was discussed first. Mr. Roberts stated he would
be using the site for a showroom – he would have samples only – there would be no storage of
chemicals on site. His hours of operation would be Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00
p.m. Mr. McCormick made a motion to approve the use, seconded by Mr. Moran. Unanimously
carried.

Next the sign was discussed and reviewed. It was stated that the combined signage (building and road)
was 5 sq. ft. over the allowable limit. Applicant would have to shrink his signage down to conform to
code and this was have to be verified with the Code Enforcement Officer. It was stated that both signs
would be internally illuminated and Mr. Morris asked for the wattage for both signs. The proposal
called for a white background with black letters but it was suggested that the sign would be more
legible if it was a black background with white letters. At this point Mr. McCormick made a motion to
approve the sign seconded by Mr. Moran contingent upon the following: (1) total signs must be
reduced by 5 sq. ft., (2) sign colors will be reversed, (3) the Planning Board reserves the right to inform
applicant that the sign is too bright and must be dimmed) – all these contingencies must be verified by
the Code Enforcement Officer. Unanimously carried.

GOT REFUND.COM., 14 MARKET STREET
Next on the agenda was the application of Got Refund.com to be able to use space at 14 Market Street
for their business and also for a proposed sign.
