A public hearing on an abandoned car at 58 W. Main St. was <br />held on April 24,1985 at 7:15 p.m. at the Village Offices at <br />7 Spring Street. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Synnett, Trustees Boyle, Cioppax Costa, Greco, <br />Komornik, and Schinella; Att'y Reilly, Zoning ~nforcement officer <br />Haubennestel, and Lynn Greco. <br /> <br />Also Present: Paul Danser~au of W. Main St. <br /> <br />Colonel Haubennestel stated that as a result of complaints <br />received in reference to an apparently abandoned car at <br /> 58 W. Main St. he investigated and found a derelict automobile <br /> and an assortment of debris and wood. The vehicle is unlicensed, <br /> and does not appear to have been moved for some time. The Col. <br /> stated that he believes that the car has been there approximately <br /> four years and constitutes a violation of Local Law No. 5 of 1984. <br /> The Col. further stated that he had received no response from <br /> the County Health Dept., and ~h~re had been no response received <br /> from the property.owner, Ms. Janet Meshanko, despite repeated <br /> correspondence. <br /> <br />Mr. Dansereau stated that the car had been stripped in recent <br />weeks, and that he had been told that it was going to be moved, <br />but he had been told that before. <br /> <br />Attorney Reilly stated that based upon the uncontradicted <br />info~mation presented, a violation was established; and that <br />under the Local Law, the Village could contract for the removal <br />and disposition of the vehicle. <br /> <br />Motion by Trustee Schinella, seconded by Trustee Komornik that <br />the Zoning Enforcement Officer be authorized ta~take photographs <br />of the vehicle; and in the event that it is not removed, to <br />contract with a towing service for removal and disposition, with <br />the owner to be credited with any salvage value against the cost <br />of the tow. -carried. <br /> <br />The second monthly meeting for April was held immediately after <br />the public hearing. <br /> <br />Mr. Daniel Mastropietro, and Mr. Purdy Halstead discussed with <br />the Board proposed betterments to be undertaken in conjunction <br />with the DOT Route 9 Project. <br /> <br />Mr. Mastropietro made reference to DOT's letter of February <br />inquiring as to the Village's intention to take advantage of <br />the road reconstruction south of the Route 9 bridge to include <br />construction of water and sewer facilities. He explained that <br />the benefit of this would be a cost savings directly in regard <br />to pavement work. <br /> He stated that he was under the impression that the Village <br />was interested in closing a loop in the water-line between Liss <br />Road and N. Mesier Ave. of about 550 feet; and installing a <br />sleeve in the sewer line at New Hackensack Road. Mr. Mastropietro <br />estimated that to join the re-located lines with 6 inch pipe <br /> <br /> <br />
