Zr~ormational meeting re proposed uses of CDBG funds was held on Nay 8,1985 at 7:15 p.m. at~e Village Hall on Spring Present~ Mayor Synnett~ Trustees Boyle, Cioppa, Greco~ Kormornik, and Schinella. (Tr. Costa out of town). The dep. clerk reported that this was the final year of the three year Urban County Consortium under which the Village obtained Community Block Grant funds. She further stated that there was $26,000 allocated for an eligible project. discussion followed on potential uses of said funds, Tr. Greco reported that there were several projects to be done in re to Highway projects and that he hoped to co-ordinate the '85 CDBO project with other programs such amC HIPS, specifically in reference to installation of curbing and oil and chipping certain streets. Tr. Ciopp~ stated that the aprons at the new firehouse additions needed to be blacktopped. The depo clerk further reported that there was approximately $25,000 still left in the '83 CDBG project, that the ~mergency Jobs Bill allottment was nearly closed out, and that the '84CDBG curbing project was near completion. Discussion followed on the present status of the '83 drainage project. It was pointed out that the proposed storm sewer to be installed on the east side of Route g in conjunction with lbs DOT pro~ect would alleviate some of the drainage difficulties at Brookside, and the impact o~ the development on the Redl propeztyo -informations! meeting closed 7t45pomej four members of the l~blic present. Motion by Tr. Schinella) seconded by Tr. Be~e that the ~83 C~BG pro~ect be reprogrammed to cover engineering costs to date, paving of the file- house aprona~ and with the balance for curbs) pending the establishment of eligibility. -carried. Motion by Tr. Schinella, seconded by Tr. Boyle that the '85 project be designated for curbs) with oil and chipping of the streets be done under CHIPS, provided eligibility is established. -carried.
