The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was .held on Wednesday, <br />May 22,1985 at 7:30 p.m. at the American Legion Hall on Spring St. <br /> <br />Present= Mayor Synnett, Trustees Boyle, Cioppa, Costa, Greco, <br />Komornik, Schinella, Att~y Reilly~ and Water Commissioner B~rinato. <br /> <br />Att'y Reilly presented the Cablevtsion franchise agreement providing <br />for a 3~ increase in franchise fee (without pass-along), for a 3 yr. <br />franchise period. <br />Motion by Tr. Ci0ppa, seconded by Tr. Greco that the Mayor be authorized <br />to execute t~e aforementioned franchise agreement with U.S. Cablevision. <br />-carried. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett advised the Board that the S.W. Johnson Engine Co. has <br />scheduled an open-house and dedication of the new addition for Sat. <br />June 15th and extended an invitation for the Board members to attend. <br /> <br />The Mayor further reported that her Tro Greco, Fqreman Cuchelo, and <br />Sgt. McCord had seen to the disposition o6 an assortment of junk <br />vehicles s~ozed at the Highway Garage. He further stated that they <br />were awaiting authorization from the County Office of Disaster Pre- <br />paredness to dispose of the weapons carrier and the other vehicle <br />previously obtained through that office some years ago, <br /> The Mayor aisc stated that a letter should be sent .to the Town <br />of Wappinger thanking the Town for assistance with the spring clean-up. <br />He indicated that he had requested the loan of the Town flusher to <br />wash down the streets before the Memorial Day parade. <br /> <br />Committee reports: <br /> <br />Legislative: Tr. Cioppa reported that the notice re the prohibition of <br />downspout discharge into~he sanitary sewer had been prepared for <br />distribution with the tax bills. He stated that public hearinos were <br />to be scheduled for Wednesday, June 12 on two proposed local laws; <br />one, limiting parking on Downey Ave., and the other regulating the <br />size of water pipes. <br /> Tr. Boyle inquired about the status of the enforcement action <br />re abandoned vehicles in Oak Park. It was reported that the Colonel <br />was following the procedures delineated in Local Law #$ of 1984, and <br />was in the process of attempIing to identify the owners of said <br />vehicles. <br /> <br />Police: Discussion was held on scheduling needs. Tr. Schinella <br />recommended that the matter be referred to the Police Committee for <br />an assessment of needs and recommendations. <br /> Tr. Costa reported that confirmation had finall~ been received <br />~omc~he-CountF on Off. Terwilliger~s appointment to the intermediate <br />position of Police Officer (hourly). <br /> <br />Recreation: Tr. Cioppa presented the list af candidates for summer <br />employment. Discussion followed on the scope of the summer program. <br />Tr. Cioppa invited all interested Board members to attend the next <br />meeting of the Recreation' Commission on May 28,1985. <br /> <br /> <br />
