The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was .held on Wednesday, May 22,1985 at 7:30 p.m. at the American Legion Hall on Spring St. Present= Mayor Synnett, Trustees Boyle, Cioppa, Costa, Greco, Komornik, Schinella, Att~y Reilly~ and Water Commissioner B~rinato. Att'y Reilly presented the Cablevtsion franchise agreement providing for a 3~ increase in franchise fee (without pass-along), for a 3 yr. franchise period. Motion by Tr. Ci0ppa, seconded by Tr. Greco that the Mayor be authorized to execute t~e aforementioned franchise agreement with U.S. Cablevision. -carried. Mayor Synnett advised the Board that the S.W. Johnson Engine Co. has scheduled an open-house and dedication of the new addition for Sat. June 15th and extended an invitation for the Board members to attend. The Mayor further reported that her Tro Greco, Fqreman Cuchelo, and Sgt. McCord had seen to the disposition o6 an assortment of junk vehicles s~ozed at the Highway Garage. He further stated that they were awaiting authorization from the County Office of Disaster Pre- paredness to dispose of the weapons carrier and the other vehicle previously obtained through that office some years ago, The Mayor aisc stated that a letter should be sent .to the Town of Wappinger thanking the Town for assistance with the spring clean-up. He indicated that he had requested the loan of the Town flusher to wash down the streets before the Memorial Day parade. Committee reports: Legislative: Tr. Cioppa reported that the notice re the prohibition of downspout discharge into~he sanitary sewer had been prepared for distribution with the tax bills. He stated that public hearinos were to be scheduled for Wednesday, June 12 on two proposed local laws; one, limiting parking on Downey Ave., and the other regulating the size of water pipes. Tr. Boyle inquired about the status of the enforcement action re abandoned vehicles in Oak Park. It was reported that the Colonel was following the procedures delineated in Local Law #$ of 1984, and was in the process of attempIing to identify the owners of said vehicles. Police: Discussion was held on scheduling needs. Tr. Schinella recommended that the matter be referred to the Police Committee for an assessment of needs and recommendations. Tr. Costa reported that confirmation had finall~ been received ~omc~he-CountF on Off. Terwilliger~s appointment to the intermediate position of Police Officer (hourly). Recreation: Tr. Cioppa presented the list af candidates for summer employment. Discussion followed on the scope of the summer program. Tr. Cioppa invited all interested Board members to attend the next meeting of the Recreation' Commission on May 28,1985.
