Co., et al.

In the absence of the Mayor, and the Dep. Mayor Costa, Trustee
Greco chaired the meeting as senior board member,
Trustee Cioppa clarified that this meeting was re-scheduled from
one postponed from August 21,1985.

Trustee Greco read the proposal of t he Fire Committee dated .
August 10,1985 for estimates on equipment and repairs,
(attached hereto,)

Trustee Cioppa explained that there were nobid items since the
flretruck repairs were already underway and expected t o cost
approximately $6,3001 and that the estimate for paving at
$.W.Johnson would be less than expected dae~%o a reduction in the
area to be cgvered. He st~ed that for those expenses estimated
under $7,O00.00 informal solicitations would be sought.

Trustee Greco asked whether t he fire companies were going to care
of any of the items listed. Mr. O'Connor stated that W.T.Garner
apent an average of $1,000.00 per yr. on buildlng maintenance;
Mr. Antonelli said it cost about $20,000 to operate S.W. Johnson.

John Silvestri said.that the bay windows to replace the doo~s had
been ordered and were cost-effective in heating cost savimtsl and
that the roof leaked when it rained.

Mr. O'Connor stated ,~hat while the company had repaired the center
section of the ceiling, leaks in other areas posed a potential
electrical hazard~ that closing in the old bay doors would reduce
the uninsulated area significantly, and the use of thermal pane
glass would cut heat loss. In addition, he stated that plans to
block in two windows in the alleyway would make the building more
securel and blacktop in the driveway would prevent gravel washing
into the strom drains.

Trustee Greco stated that he was disturbed by the short notice
re the OSHA compliance. Donald Mazochi said that during his tenure on
the Board, he does not recall ever seeing any such notice.
Chief Alfonso reported that notification was supposed t o have been
sent to each municipality in 1981, but that the Village was not the
only municipality which may not have received notice.
He stated that the OSHA standard equipment was safer in that
it included a non-punture helmet, fireproof liners in the coats,
and fire-resistant gloves.
