The regular meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on Wednesday, <br />September 13, 1978 at 7:30 P.M. in the American Legion Hall. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Synnett, ~r. Dolan, Tr. Al£onso, ?r. Lawrence, Tr. Si~vestzi, <br />Tr. Schinella~ Tr. DiGregorio and Atty. Lyons. <br /> <br />Minutes: <br />Minutes of the last regular meeting[held Aaug. 9, 1978, a Public Hg. the <br />same date, and a special meeting h%1d Aug. 14, 1978 had been duplicated <br />and previously presented to Board members.. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Lawrence, seconded by Tr, Silvestri that the above minutgs <br />be accepted as.written. Carried. <br /> <br />Residents of Oak Tree Village present voicing their disapproval of the <br />boarding up of a unit in that development. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett reported he investigated the situation and reported owner <br />had the right to protect his property. <br />He stated he contacted the owner and the Village Atty. and there was nothing <br />under the law that we could do. <br /> <br />Tr. DiGregorio reported he was concerned with the situation as same was <br />unsightly but there was nothing legally that we could do. He suggested <br />writing a personal letter appealing to the FHA that an unsightly situation <br />existed. <br /> <br />Another resident inquired as to why the Dog Ordinance was no~ being <br />enforced and Mayor Synnett replied Village does not have full time <br />Wardens, which would be an expensive proposition. <br /> <br />He stated the house previously mentioned was situated on N.. Gilmore Blvd., <br />had been abandoned and foreclosed. Mayor Synne~t reported Finance Co, wanted <br />to sell unit rather than rent same. <br /> <br />Atty. Lyons reported Reliance Funding, if the owner, can dow hat they please <br />as long as they dont violate any Village ordinances. <br /> <br />Tr. Schinella suggested sending an unofficial letter urging the owner to <br />assist in resolving the issue on behalf of the residents and the owners. <br /> <br />Discussion foll~ddon this problem and possible solutions including a <br />possible zoning change. <br /> <br />Atty. Lyons reported something could possibly be done under a Building <br />Code. <br />He stated we could request the owner of the property to take action in <br />the be~t interest of the neighborhood. <br /> <br /> <br />
