A Public Hearing on the proposed uses of Federal Revenue Sharing funds in <br />the Village budget for the fiscal year 1980-81, was held on ~-24-80 <br />at 7:30 P.M. in the American Legioh Hall, <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Synnett, Tr. Dolan, Tr. Alfonso, Tr. Lawrence, Tr. Silvestri, <br />Tr. DiGregorio, Tr. Vigi0tti, Atty. Lyons and Treasurer Campilii. <br /> <br />Atty. Lyons reported purpose of the hearing was to provide residents of the <br />community with the opportunity to present written or oral comments on the <br />possible use of said funds. He stated this had to be done before the Village <br />holds its Oublic Hg. on the budget and at the present time we had no firm <br />commitments. <br /> <br />Treasurer campilii reported Village had been allocatted $36,000. in revenue <br />sharing funds of which $19,000. went in the Police budget and $17~O00. for <br />Sanitation. He stated these funds~ if eliminated, would put the Village at <br />a deficit of $36,000. and we would have to add over $2.00 per thousand for <br /> <br />Hay~)r Synnett reported there would have to be cut'backs in various departments. <br /> <br />Treasurer Campilii reported 2 Police Officers were funded from Revenue sahring. <br /> <br />Tr. DiGregorio reported funds could be allocatted for other agnecies when same <br />is needed. <br /> <br />Water Commissioner Chase inquired if any funds were set aside for the Water <br />Dept. and Mayor Synnett r eDlied no. <br /> <br />He stated the D.C. Association of Mayors was formed to investigate as to why <br />smaller communites cannot get more aid. <br /> <br />Since no one elese present voiced an apinion concernin9 ~he use of Federal <br />revenue sharing funds, Public Hg. closed 8:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Leo D..j~owney <br />Village Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
