The regular meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on <br />Wednesday, April 9, 1980 at 7:OO P.M. in the American Legion Hall. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Synnett, Tr. Moruzzi, Tr. Silvestri, Tr. Costa, Tr. <br />DiGregorio, Tr. Viglotti~ Atty. Lyons and Treasurer Campilii. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett requested a moment of silent prayer be observed in <br />memory of former Fire Chief William Brower who recently passed away. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett requested the regular order of business be dispensed with. <br />He stated he had received complaints concerning a rodent problem at <br />the old dm~psite on Franklindale Ave. Mayo~ Synnett reported Bffron Co. <br />will remove metal at the si~ and there would be no more dumping of any <br />kind. Me stated Abalene Pest Control has been spraying the area and <br />same had only been opened for emergency use. <br />Mayor Synnett reported that'anyone seen dumping at the site should be <br />reported to the Folice Dept. <br /> <br />A resident of Leewood Arms reported garbage has been dumpe4 recently. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett reported Police Dept. will patrol the area as they are <br />aware of the problem. <br /> <br />A resident reported dump has been closed since 1976, yet the Village <br />dumps garbage on a weekly basis. She stated she had ~ rats on her back <br />patio and inquired as to what t he Village was going to do about it. <br /> <br />Tr. DiGregorio reported ¥i]lage paid over $200.00 to Abalene mest Control <br />to spray the area and we had permission to dump leaves and brush from <br />D.C. Health Dept. <br /> <br />Resident reported Mr. Bernhardt, representative of D.C. Health Dept., <br />inspected site andsaid same waa a~health hazar4. <br /> <br />Tr. DiGregorio reported this should have been brought to the attention <br />of the Village Board. <br /> <br />Discussion followed on the possibility of the pest control agency not <br />performing their duties properly. <br /> <br />Resident reported Village Board should have been aware of the rodent <br />problem at Leewood Arms. <br /> <br />Tr. DiGregorio reported removing the metal ~ouldn{t eliminate problem and <br />a resident replied rodents breed in a~pliances due to the wiring. <br /> <br />Matter to be investigated further. <br /> <br /> <br />
