<br />MINUTES OF PLANNING BOARD MEETING HELD 6/3/10 <br />Present: Lisa Firstenberg, Vice Chair (Conducted the meeting), Bonnie Kieffer, Don <br />McCormick, George Moran, Mike Kocan <br /> <br />Absent: Tom Morris <br /> <br />Others Present: Daniel Quezada Joe Indovino <br /> Digna Quezada Trustee Calabrese <br /> Jeff Smith John Furst <br /> Carlo Caldara Joe Sarchino <br /> Roger Gordek Daryl Juliano <br /> Chris Juliano <br /> <br />Meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. Motion by Mr. McCormick seconded by Ms. Kieffer to <br />approve the minutes from the previous meeting as amended. These amendments include (1) <br />Page 1 beginning text – word should be “Present”, (2) Page 3 – second paragraph – first sentence <br />resolutions <br />should say “….include in all ….”, and (3) Page 1 under Mahoneys – second <br />paragraph when they discuss a 25 ft. setback the word rear setback must be included. On roll <br />call vote – Mr. McCormick – Aye, Ms. Kieffer – Aye, Ms. Firstenberg – Aye, Mr. Moran – Aye, <br />(Mr. Kocan absent from voting on minutes) and Mr. Morris – Absent. <br /> <br />DANIELS DELI, 2554 SOUTH AVENUE <br />First on the agenda was the proposal from Daniel Quezada with a proposal for a sign at 2554 <br />South Avenue. Mr. Quezada stated he is just replacing the face of the sign – it would be the <br />exact size as the existing sign – just different name of the deli and different colors. Ms. <br />Firstenberg informed Mr. Quezada that he would have to give the Board color samples of the <br />new sign. Mr. Quezada also stated that there would be no change to the road sign. The Board <br />reviewed the application and stated it conformed to the zoning code. Ms. Kieffer made a motion <br />to approve the sign as presented contingent upon Mr. Quezada brining in color samples. Motion <br />was seconded by Mr. McCormick. Unanimously carried. <br /> <br />PAVILION AT VET’S FIELD – VILLAGE OF WAPPINGERS FALLS <br />Next on the agenda was the proposal from the Village of Wappingers Falls to construct a <br />pavilion at Vet’s Field. Mr. Smith stated it would be a 30’ x 60’ structure made of concrete with <br />a truss roof – Mr. Smith should be submitting structural drawings by Wednesday. Ms. <br />Firstenberg asked what the finishes would be and Mr. Smith stated he believes it will be just <br />primed steel and painted. The color has not yet been decided. The purpose of the pavilion <br />would be a place for the summer camp children to get out of the sun and to use it for different <br />community events. Mr. Smith went on to state that there is a Masterplan for the parks and there <br />are a few other drawings for consideration by the Parks/Recreation Departments. It was stated <br />that the cost of the pavilion would be completely out of recreation fees. Mr. Kocan asked the <br />cost of the proposal and Mr. Smith stated so far he has the equipment donated, the labor for the <br />equipment to be operated donated, the labor to put on the roof shingles, the labor to set the <br />trusses and plywood are also donated. Without the structural drawings he cannot go out and get <br />prices on trusses or concrete – but they are trying to keep it between 40K and 50K. Mr. Smith <br />stated it would be built approximately 100 ft. from the lake. Mr. Smith stated they are doing <br /> <br />
