/77 <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held <br />on Wednesday, July 10, 1~1 in the Village Hall at ?:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Hinzmann, Tr. Costello~ Tr. Bain~ Tr. <br />Napoleon, Tr. DiDomizio, Tr. Komornik, Tr. Bovino and <br />Attorney Viglotti. <br /> <br />Dutchess County Executive Lucille Pattison and members of her <br />staff were present to discuss issues the Board of Trustees <br />wished to bring to her attention. <br /> <br />Mrs. Pattison introduced her staff members: Joan Spense, <br />Deputy County Executive in the area of social services and <br />human services, also a member of the MTA Board of Directors; <br />Fred Knapp~ Deputy County Executive in the physical services <br />area, serving as liaison to the Municipalities and David <br />Squires, Budget Director. <br /> <br />Mrs. Pattison commented that it was her pleasure to visit the <br />Village of Wappingers Falls for the first time, and of the <br />trips they have made around the County over the past number <br />of years, this visit is their last call.. <br /> <br />Mrs. Pattison stated that the County has shared a portion of <br />the sales tax with all the Municipalities and called upon Mr. <br />Squires to elaborate. Mr. Squires stated that by the end of <br />July the Village should receive a check for $22,000 dollars. <br /> <br />Mrs. Pattison asked if all revenue sharing was cut or just a <br />part of it. Mayor Hinzmann stated that the Village was <br />receiving approximately $35,000 dollars. <br /> <br />Mrs. Pattison inquired about recycling in the Village. Tr. <br />Napoleon explained the recycling procedures in the Village <br />and commented that it is going along fine and everyone is <br />doing their share. He pointed out the importance of all <br />residents recycling in relation to the tipping fees, and <br />mentioned that on July 1st the businesses also started <br />recycling. <br /> <br />Tr. Bovino commented that the county notice that she had <br />received is helpful, and felt the problem with recycling will <br />lie with tenants and apartments. <br /> <br />Mrs. Pattison said that the recycling thrust is not so much <br />for economical reasons as for environmental. She also <br />pointed out that we need incentives from private industries <br />fo find markets for some plastics. <br /> <br />Tr. Bovino inquired as to the Columbus Quincentennial and <br />Mrs. Pattison said that a committee has been appointed and <br />planning will be under way. <br /> <br />Meeting of July lOth, 1~1 - Page # I <br /> <br /> <br />
