A Workshop session on the proposed Route 9D reconstruction project was
held on Hatch 24, 1981 at ?:30 P.M.

Present: Mayor Synnet~t, Tr. Dolan~ Tr. Viglo{ti, Tr. Moruzzi, Tr. DiGregorlo,
Tr. Costa, Trustees elect Greco & Mazochi & Atty. Lyons.

Also present: Water Commissioners Berinato & Catalano and Engineers Paggi
& Martin.

V~llage Engineer Paggi reported that Mr. Hof (Senior Engineer, Dept. of
Transportation) would consider adding the paving of East Main St. to the
Rte. 9D contract as long as it could be considered a betterment of a State
Highway. He estimated cost of replacement of paving & curbs, water & sewer
mains & connections (total cost) $710,OO0. (East Main from Post office to
Dairy Oueen). Would include new hydrants also. Covers re-paving, but not
tearing up old pavement. Curbs, but not sidewalks.

Eng. Paggi discussed Route 9D drainage (storm water). Major areas are
Maple St. & Elm St. If Elm St. is piped, including flow from Mesier &
Remsen~ neither of these areas should result in additional cost to Village.
Also other streets with minor impact on State lines in South Ave.- All
should involve no cost to Village. Even if Elm St. is piped, it would
only carry water that eventually drains on South Ave.~ so should invoilve
no cost to Village. Eased on computation of flow by Eng. Martin & based
on this~ would not increase size of State lines.

Discussion followed on the eligibility of the sewer portion of the E~st
Main St. job for prior approval for funding under Tri~lunicipal project
grants.

Mayor reported that Police Car #53 (1974 Mercury) was in bad shape. He
reported that Chief would be out of Town tomorrow and that his absence
had not been authorized.

'Motion by Tr. Viglotti~ seconded by Tr. Costa that the Chief be told not
to run Car #53. Vote tied 3 to 3.

~ayor had to leave meeting~ His son is ill.

'Disnussion followed on drainage on west side of Village along Rte. 9d..
If Town puts line in Rte. 9D to carry Herrywood~ Village's coDtributi~on
would be negligible. If neither Town nor State puts in llne, then if
VilLage wants liner there will be some cost to Village.

Atty. Lyons reported that Town was trying to convince the State that i~
should put a closed storm sewer system back in the Rte. 9D plans and that
the Town wanted to know'if the Village would object to discharge of this
flow into the Village lake.
