An informational meeting concernir~ the Rte. 9D project and the possibility <br />of putting electric wires underground was held 5-3-81 at 10:00 A.M. <br /> <br />Present: Mayc~ Synnett, Tr. Greco, Tr. Costa, Tr. Mazochi, Tr. DiGregorio, <br />Tr. Viglotti. <br /> <br />Also present: <br /> <br />Mr. Raymond Bass <br />Mr. David Hinkley <br />Mr. Paul Feeney <br />Ralph Beisner <br />Mr. Ron Rudolph <br />Mr. Michael <br />Francis Farrell <br />Norman & Rita Nussb£ckel <br /> <br />NY Telephone Co. <br />Central Hudson <br /> <br />Rep. Sen. Warren & Assemblyman Warren <br />Dept of Transportation <br /> <br />Asst. Fire Chief <br />Visual Environmental Comm. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett reported purpose of the meeting was to approach the State in <br />an effoxt to have the cables buried along Main St. through the Village,, He <br />stated we were not getting enough efforts from our Legislators. <br /> <br />Mr. Nussbickel reported Visual Environmental Comm. was trying to put Village <br />on the National Register. He stated that with the proposed Rte. 9D project~ <br />we. could possibly get some help from the State along the Main Street ~rea. <br />Mr. Nussbickel discussed problems which would exist along Main St. shiould <br />a fire occur due to the obstacle of the wires. <br /> <br />Tr. Greco reported sidewalk situation should be incorporated into the Rte. 9D <br />project as other communities have gotten same. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett reported we have drainage problems resultin9 from South Hills <br />Mall and we weren't getting a fair shake. He stated our major concern was <br />the wires. <br /> <br />Mr. David Hinkley, Central Hudson representative, reported they were tlrying <br />to determine as to what the State was going to doe. He stated they would <br />have an engineer on the job and~ from the north to the south line, all work <br />would be confined to within the curbs. He stated they had no plan. to move <br />their lines. <br /> <br />Mr. Nussbickel reported they were talking safety. <br /> <br />Asst. Fire Eng. Farrell reported wires were a hazard and if one life was <br />saved it would be well worth the removal. <br /> <br />Mr. Hinkley reported they would take this under advisement and would study <br />scope of the work. He stated it would be premature to make any commitments <br />other than visual improvements. Mr. ~tinkley reported they would be more <br />cooperative but needed more data. <br /> <br />Mr. Hof, D.O.T., reported basic scope of the work has been laid out <br />but they would be happy to dress up areas within responsible limits. <br /> <br />Mr. Ray Bass reported they were trying to restore village to original <br />era and sidewalks and curbing were in poor shape. <br /> <br /> <br />
