An informational meeting was held on May 20, 1981 at 7:30 P.M. in the <br />American Legion Hall. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Synnett, Tr. Costa, Tr. bloruzzi & Tr. Mazochi. <br /> <br />Petition read from res~ents from Market St., Dutchess Terr.~ and Dutchess Ave, <br />concernin9 the traffic conditions in that area. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett reported sign has been moved and is not visible & speed limit <br />was not being enforced. <br /> <br />Atty. Lyons reported State mandates speed limit. <br /> <br />Discussion followed on speeding in the Market St. area. <br /> <br />It was recommended that playground signs be installed and speed limit be strictly <br />enforced. <br /> <br />It was reported that 4 poles were hit on Market St. within the last 2 yrs. <br /> <br />It was reported by residents that there was no response to Police calls and <br />a lack of Police protection. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Moruzzi~ seconded by Tr. Mazochi that the Police use radar on <br />Lower ~iarket St. Carried. <br /> <br />It was reported the Stop sign was missino coming out of McKinley St. <br /> <br />Discuss ion followed on the purchase of the Eagen house on School st. for <br />an addition to the S.W. Johnson Engine Co. Price $36,000. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Moruzzi, seconded by Tr. Costa that authorization be given <br />the purchase of the Eagen property and the Mayor be empowered, to put a binder <br /> <br />Tr. Mazochi reported he was against going out for a bond as we were already. <br />involved with sewer and water. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Moruzzi, seconded by Tr. Mazochi that meeting adjourn.
