A special meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on 7-27-81 aR <br />7:00 P.M. in the Village Hall. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Synnett, Tr. Moruzzi, Tr. Greco, Tr. Costa, Tr. Mazochi, <br />Tr. DiGregorio and Atty. Lyons <br /> <br />Mr. Viscarelti, merchant at B Market St., read a letter to the Board relative to <br />damage to his property and numerous acts of vandelism. He requested increased <br />police protection for the area. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett reported bldg. had not been secured after a recent burglary <br />and complaints should be investigated and followed through. <br /> <br />Mr. Viscarelli reported there was inadequate protection of property on <br />Market Street. <br /> <br />Tr. Morusmi reported procedures should be followed and 90~ of our problem~ <br />involved Market St. <br /> <br />Tr. Costa reported there was supposed to be a walking de,ail and an officer <br />on traffic . <br /> <br />Tr. Greco suggested meetiing with the Police Chief and discuss relative to <br />patrols. <br /> <br />Meeting scheduled for 8-5-81 at 7:00 P.M. and the merchants on Market St. <br />will be invited also. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett reported he spoke to the owner of the f crfmer Eagen house on <br />School St. and he was willing to sell same fc~ $50,000. He stated the <br />S.W. Johnson Engine Co. would contribute $5,000. toward the purchase and <br />this would be the only chance to get the property. Mayor Synnett reported <br />S.W. Johnson Engine Co. would pay for demolition of the bldg. <br /> <br />Tr. Greco inquired as to condemnation proceedings as owner would be makin9 <br />a large profit. <br /> <br />Tr. Costa reported a new structure could be erected on W. Academy St. <br />to house both trucks. <br /> <br />Discussion roll,red pro and con on the above purchase. <br /> <br />Mr. Alfonso, member of the S.W. Johnson Engine Co., recommended purchase <br />as the repairs to the present floor would be costly. <br /> <br />Atty. Lyons reported we would need a bond issue and could hold maturity <br />under 5 yrs. He stated we would need a title search and there would be <br />a recording fee. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. ~azochi, seconded by Tr. Greco that the Village Atty. be <br />instructed to ~e~uest a bond resolution from the Village bonding <br />attorneys no to exceed $52~000. <br /> <br />Meeting closed 7:46 P,M? <br /> <br /> <br />
