A Workshop session was held 8-26-81 at 8:00 P.M. with officials of To~n of <br />Poughkeepsie to discuss the drainage problems in the First Ward, <br /> <br />Preent: Mayor Synnett~ Tr. Moruzzi~ Tr. Costa, Tr. Mazochi~ Tr. DiGregorio, <br />Tr. Viglotti~ Atty. Lyons and Eng. Paggi. <br /> <br />Also present: Town Supervisor Buchholz, Council woman Carol Garrity and ' <br />Town Bngineer Vincent Kelley. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett reported Village was concerned with drainage and the absence <br />of a holding pold. Ne stated the Village and Town has had a good working <br />relationshlp but the referendum for improvements to the drainage system <br />never materialized and previous efforts have failed. Mayor S~nnett <br />reported we were also concerned with the condition of the lake. <br /> <br />Mrs. Garrity reported they met with officials of D.O.T. and funding for. <br />the drainage had been deleted. She stated they would have to update their <br />cost figures and they have contacted State officials. <br /> <br />~ng. Kelley reported shortest route from Nelson and Delavergne Avenues <br />would be south of West Main St. to the lake. <br /> <br />Supervisor Buchholz reported there would be objections to running drainage <br />under Rte. 9D to the lake and ~hey needed Villagers support. She stated <br />an environmental impact study would have to be made. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett reported large drain through Saint Mary's cemetary could <br />' cause a problem. <br /> <br />Tr. Moruzzi reported we were concerned with adding pollution to the lake <br />and problem must be addressed. Ne stated we needed cooperation from both <br />Townships and the County. Tr. Moruzzl reported there was no alternate <br />solution to the drainage other than the lake and we needed a c~mmitment. <br /> <br />Tr. Costa reported lake was filling up with dirt ar~t silt and we were <br />concerned. <br /> <br />AttF. Lyons reported there has been no further action taken on the l&w <br />suit. <br /> <br />Supervisor Buchholz reported they were awaiting a reply from State <br />officials and D.O.T. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett reported we were concerned with entire drainage problem in <br />the area. <br /> <br />Mrs. Garrity reported they needed the support from the Town Board. <br /> <br />Tr. DiGregorio inquired if it would be of interest to the Town Board to <br />cooperate in improving the lake. He stated we needed support from the <br />Towns of Poughkeepsie and Wappinger. <br /> <br /> <br />
