Unanimously carried.

RICHARD HOLLISTER FOR 1 MARKET STREET
First on the agenda was the proposal from Mr. Richard Hollister with changes to the outside of
the building at 1 Market Street. Mr. Richard Hollister owner of the building and Ms. Doreen
Marcelli, Property Manager were both present. Mr. Hollister stated the first things he wanted to
address were the safety issues and violations. The windows are rotted and sliding glass door is
also rotted. He wanted to repair them before the rain and/or snow started coming in. He has
already repaired the roof. He is anxious to get a commercial tenant who will want to stay there
long term – he is looking to make this building the “gem of the Village.” He is also employing
local designer, Helen Piteo to assist him. He stated that his preference is to have a residence on
the top floor as the ability to rent it out will be very easy due to the location and incredible views.
He went on to state that he is also open to making it a commercial space depending upon the type
of business. The layout, view and location and combining this space with the patio area is a
natural fit. Mr. Hollister also stated that he is working with the Code Enforcement Officer to
determine exactly what can and cannot be done. Mr. Hollister has attached a “Vision statement
to his submission which is on file in the Planning/Zoning offices. He also discussed with the
Board the architectural features he is interested in. Mr. Kocan stated he was not in favor of the
vinyl siding proposed by Mr. Hollister – he feels with the historic nature and location of this
building vinyl is not the way to go. He feels Mr. Hollister should explore other possibilities such
as cement board which is both durable and fire retardant. Ms. Kieffer stated she felt applicant
should stay away from all vinyl – maybe mix and match – she likes the color scheme he has
