A Publlc Hearing on a proposed increase in the CATV franchise was held on <br />1-6-82 at 7:00 P.M. in the American Legion Hallo <br /> <br />Present: Tr. Greco, Tr. Costa, Tr. Mazochi and Atty. Lyons. <br /> Mr. Howard Erichson present representing US Cablevision. <br /> <br />Atty. Lyons reported Public Hearing was scheduled on the request of US <br />Cablevision for a proposed increase in their basic rates. <br />He stated same can only be granted by an amendment to the franchise which <br />required a Publlc Hearing. <br />Atty. Lyons reported notice of said hearing had been published in the W. & S.D. <br />News. <br /> <br />Mr. Erichson reported amendment would provide for a rate increase of 95 cents per I <br />month and also include into the franchise the rates for converters and other <br />services. He stated last increase was in 1978 and the present proposal <br />represents 3.7~ per yr.. <br />N~. Erichson reported surrounding communities were paying $7.95 per month <br />and senior citizens were eligible for a 30~ discount. <br />He stated other rates were not subject to local control, <br /> <br />Atty. Lyons reported rates were subject to regulations set down by the State <br />Cable Commission. <br />He stated application was made a year ago and Village was paying discriminatory <br />rates. Atty. Lyons reported that, under the contract, Board has to act on <br />application at their next regular meeting. <br /> <br />No one was present to voice an opinion for or con the proposed increase. <br /> <br />Public Hearing closed 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Village Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
