<br />MINUTES OF THE PLANNING BOARD MEETING HELD MARCH 3, 2016 <br /> <br />Present: Tom Morris, Chairman, Bonnie Kieffer, Vice Chair, Don McCormick, Bob <br />Relyea, Mike Kocan, George Moran (Alternate) and Mary Ann Loncto, Secretary <br /> <br />Others Present: Frank Buyakowski Charlie McCluskey <br /> Bill Povall Teresa Novick <br /> Tom Walsh Lou Gallo <br /> John Gallo Trustee Niznik <br /> Trustee Komornik Lydia Enson <br /> Judy Beck Cathy Mazochi <br /> Dave Stenger Richard Cantor, Esq. <br /> Trustee Huber Beth Huber <br /> Jon Bodendorf Brandon Petrillo <br /> <br />Meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. The minutes were amended to include the following: <br />McCormick <br />Page 3, Paragraph No. 3, Line 13 should read, “Mr. asked the owner….”, Page 5, <br />the applicant <br />Paragraph #6, Line 6 should read, “…how it looks with the bridge and what is <br />but <br />planning on doing underneath it…”, Page 5, Paragraph #6, last line should read, “…past, <br />moving forward.” <br /> <br />DUTCHESS SHOPPING PLAZA, ROAD SIGNS, 1582 ROUTE 9 <br />First on the agenda was the continuation of a proposal from Davis Fowler Group with two new <br />road signs at Dutchess Shopping Plaza, 1582 Route 9. Mr. Frank Buyakowski owner of the <br />plaza, Mr. Bill Povall, Engineer and Mr. Tom Walsh from Sign Language were present. Mr. <br />Povall stated that they changed the design so both signs would match. The new north sign is no <br />higher than the existing one. The new proposal also showed some type of vegetation under the <br />signs. It also accomplishes an open space for visibility – it was stated that the silhouette in the <br />picture is approximately 6’3” so there is visibility for traffic. Ms. Kieffer stated she was really <br />pleased with the way the new design is – there is more symmetry to the signs, they are more <br />compact and appear neater. Mr. Povall stated that the new signs will match what the building <br />will look like in the future. The applicant showed the Board elevations of how the signs will <br />look. Ms. Kieffer made a motion to approve the signs contingent upon Mr. Murphy confirming <br />signs conform to the code and applicant providing color samples. Motion was seconded by Mr. <br />McCormick. Unanimously carried. <br /> <br />AUTO ZONE, DUTCHESS SHOPPING PLAZA <br />Next on the agenda was the proposal for wall signs at Auto Zone, 1582 Route 9. No one was <br />present for the hearing and therefore secretary was asked to contact applicants and let them know <br />the date of the next meeting. <br /> <br />TERESA NOVICK FOR 38-46 FRANKLINDALE AVENUE <br />Next on the agenda was the continuation of a public hearing on the request of Teresa Novick, 6 <br />Woodland Court seeking a Special Use Permit in conjunction with site plan review to be able to <br />add two additional trailers to her property located at 38-46 Franklindale Avenue. Mrs. Teresa <br />Novick, owner of the property and Mr. Jon Bodendorf, Engineer were present. Ms. Kieffer made <br /> <br />
