MINUTES OF THE PLANNING BOARD MEETING HELD MARCH 3, 2016 Present: Tom Morris, Chairman, Bonnie Kieffer, Vice Chair, Don McCormick, Bob Relyea, Mike Kocan, George Moran (Alternate) and Mary Ann Loncto, Secretary Others Present: Frank Buyakowski Charlie McCluskey Bill Povall Teresa Novick Tom Walsh Lou Gallo John Gallo Trustee Niznik Trustee Komornik Lydia Enson Judy Beck Cathy Mazochi Dave Stenger Richard Cantor, Esq. Trustee Huber Beth Huber Jon Bodendorf Brandon Petrillo Meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. The minutes were amended to include the following: McCormick Page 3, Paragraph No. 3, Line 13 should read, “Mr. asked the owner….”, Page 5, the applicant Paragraph #6, Line 6 should read, “…how it looks with the bridge and what is but planning on doing underneath it…”, Page 5, Paragraph #6, last line should read, “…past, moving forward.” DUTCHESS SHOPPING PLAZA, ROAD SIGNS, 1582 ROUTE 9 First on the agenda was the continuation of a proposal from Davis Fowler Group with two new road signs at Dutchess Shopping Plaza, 1582 Route 9. Mr. Frank Buyakowski owner of the plaza, Mr. Bill Povall, Engineer and Mr. Tom Walsh from Sign Language were present. Mr. Povall stated that they changed the design so both signs would match. The new north sign is no higher than the existing one. The new proposal also showed some type of vegetation under the signs. It also accomplishes an open space for visibility – it was stated that the silhouette in the picture is approximately 6’3” so there is visibility for traffic. Ms. Kieffer stated she was really pleased with the way the new design is – there is more symmetry to the signs, they are more compact and appear neater. Mr. Povall stated that the new signs will match what the building will look like in the future. The applicant showed the Board elevations of how the signs will look. Ms. Kieffer made a motion to approve the signs contingent upon Mr. Murphy confirming signs conform to the code and applicant providing color samples. Motion was seconded by Mr. McCormick. Unanimously carried. AUTO ZONE, DUTCHESS SHOPPING PLAZA Next on the agenda was the proposal for wall signs at Auto Zone, 1582 Route 9. No one was present for the hearing and therefore secretary was asked to contact applicants and let them know the date of the next meeting. TERESA NOVICK FOR 38-46 FRANKLINDALE AVENUE Next on the agenda was the continuation of a public hearing on the request of Teresa Novick, 6 Woodland Court seeking a Special Use Permit in conjunction with site plan review to be able to add two additional trailers to her property located at 38-46 Franklindale Avenue. Mrs. Teresa Novick, owner of the property and Mr. Jon Bodendorf, Engineer were present. Ms. Kieffer made
