87 <br /> <br />Regular ~eeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on Wednesday, <br />May 14~ 197~ at 7:00 P.M. in the American Legion Hall. <br /> <br />Those present: Mayor Synnett~ Tr. Dolan, Tr. DiBerto, Tr. Bain, Tr. <br />Silvestri~ Tr. Belding, Tr. Short and Atty. Lyons. <br /> <br />School Attorney Aldrich present and discussion followed on a problem <br />which exists at the entrance of the Junior High School. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett reported juveniles are causing vandelism in the area and · <br />using profane language. <br /> <br />Atty. Lyons reported the school was interested in having the Village <br />patrol their property but this could only be done bw annexation. <br />He stated we didn't need permission to make an arrest. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett reported incidents which occur in this area are not right <br />and suggested the school hire a part time Sheriff. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Dolan, seconded by Tr. Belding that the Police Department <br />be directed to maintain law and ordel~ln this area. Carried. <br /> <br />Atty. Aldrich discussed proposed Local Law #2 concerning Mr. Finnerman's <br />request for a gasoline station. He requested another Public Hg. be <br />scheduled on this request. <br /> <br />Tr. Silvestri reported request turned down twice previously and he <br />didn't see a need for another Public <br /> <br />Roll Call vote: Tr. Bain (aye), Tr. Dolan (aye), Tr. Short (aye), <br />Tr. Beldlng (aye), Tr. Silvestri (nay), Tr. DiBerto (aye). Carried. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Dolan~ seconded by Tr. Belding that the above mentioned. <br />proposed Local Law be turned over to the Legislative Comm. for the <br />rescheduling of a Public Hg. Carried. 1 against. <br /> <br />Mr. Weitllch addressed meeting on behalf of the Wappingers Historical <br />Society. He inquired if any action was taken on their request to vacate <br />the Police Station and the Mesier Homestead. <br />He discussed historical significance of the building and felt problems <br />could be remedied if bldg. was vacated. <br /> <br />Mayor ~ynnett reported no recommendations have been made and it would <br />be impossible to move at this time as the Village had no prospective <br />facilities. <br /> <br />Mr. Weitlich requested building be kept in historical structure should <br />Police plan;to expand. <br /> <br />Mr. hrling, Park Comm. member, reported no renovations have been <br />authorized by the Park Co~. <br /> <br /> <br />
