Specialmeeting of the Village Board held Wednesday, June 22,1983 at
?IOOpomo at the American Legion Hall.

Present= Mayor Synnett, Trustees Carey, Cioppa~ Greco) and Mazochi;
Att~y Lyons and Treasurer Campilii. Trustee Costa was absent due to
illness. Trustee Brown did not attend.
Also present= David Alfonso~ Kevin Delehanty~ and William Marcojohn
of the S.~, Johnson Building Committee, Engineer Paggi.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the proposed addition to
the $.W.Johnson,Firehouse.

Bngineer Paggi explained that towards the end of May, the Johnson
Engine Co. was presented with a sketch and cost estimates for a
30'x72' addition to the present firehouse. An allowance was
eluded for several items such as heat, ~entilation, and electric
service since more specific estimates would depend upon the actual
design plans. A second report was subsequently prepared in early
June addressing projected costs of drainage work that would be
required in con~unction with this project.

In response to various questions he further explained that the
figure for the heat allowance was estimated before receipt of the
hydraulic engineer's report but he stated :hat the cost of~e work
detailed in that report would probably be fairly close to the previous
allowance. He also stated that some fill would be needed to sub-
grade~e property; and that there did appear to be some difficulty
with the placement of~e present retaining wa~l, in about three
locations.

Trustee Mazochi said that it was his impression that the fire company
had offered to put up the building if the village would provide the
material but that seems ~ have changed.

MEe Delehanty stated that with the increased scope of the work, the
fire company did not have the technical capacity to do the work
themselves since there were no longer any masons nor electricians in
the company~ and they anticipated having t o subcontract the work.

Mayor Synnett stated that there was not suf[icient funds available
at ~is time to undertake a project o~ this size; that the money
previously designated from the CDBO funds was no longer available,
and would bare to be used towards the water line repairs at the
Bleachery~

Treasvrer Campilii explained that approximately 16~ of the village
budget was already Committed to bond projects for the acqu£sit~&n~
of the firehouse properties, the purchase of the loader, and other
projectsI and since bond anticipation notes would have to be paid
off in five years, this would create to heavy a burden on the
taxpayers at this time, Me also explained that to float a bond on
this pr®ject, the villag· would have t o put 10% dow~ or approximately
$13,700.
