Regular Meeting of the Mayor and Village Board of Trustees was held on Wednesday, January <br />10, 2007 in the American Legion Hall, 7 Spring Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590 <br />Meeting was called to order 7:15 P.M. <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Moment of Silence was held in remembrance of President Gerald Ford. <br />Roll Call: Mayor Lawrence, present; Tr. Weitlich, present; Tr. Chase, present; Tr. Alexander, present; <br />Tr. Cerino, absent; Tr. Visentin, present; Tr. Hilderbrand, present. <br />Action on Minutes: December 13, 2006 <br />Motion by Tr. Weitlich to accept the minutes as written. Seconded by Tr. Chase. All in favor. <br />Carried. <br />Authorization to pay bills as per approved Warrants. <br />Mayor Lawrence stated all bills had been signed. <br />Tr. Weitlich asked if Tr. Cerino came in to sign the warrants and Clerk replied Tr. Cerino did come in <br />this afternoon and did approve the Warrants. <br />Motion by Tr. Weitlich to authorize payment of bills as per approved Warrants. Seconded by Tr. <br />Chase. All in favor. Carried. <br />Department & Agency Manager Reports. <br />Treasurer Jennifer Brown stated she has begun work on the year end reports and W-2's for Village <br />employees and she hopes to get them out next week. The 30 day CD will be renewing for the 4`h time <br />on January l l~h and they have earned approximately $8,000 in interest so far. She will have to start <br />"dipping" into this money for expenditures but she is happy with how this went and will keep a portion <br />of this money in a CD as long as possible. She then said they have completed the 7`h month of the <br />fiscal year and through December approximately $80,000 has been collected in court fines, net <br />payment they need to make to the State. It looks like they will meet or exceed the budget amount of <br />$110,000.00. <br />Police Commissioner Capra stated the Police Department handled 5,381 complaints this past year. <br />They had 215 accidents; they issued 3,106 uniform traffic tickets; they arrested 313 people. He then <br />said the last person out of the academy was Kevin Reggero. He is the newest member of the <br />department. He went to Kingston Police Academy and he got tops in his performance. He also got top <br />cop for the entire academy. He did an excellent job. He was the oldest member there. He had a lot of <br />young bucks he was competing against and he got top cop. He put the Village of Wappingers Falls on <br />the map. <br />Building Inspector Kevin Brutting stated he is giving a quarterly report. It covers the period of <br />October 2006 to December 2006. There are 561 outstanding building permits. In that 3 month period <br />they issued 25 certificates of occupancy or certificates of compliance. In order to issue the 25 CO's it <br />took 175 inspections. In 2007 the State is requiring almost 4 more inspections per certificate of <br />occupancy. The number of inspections to issue a CO is going to go up in 2007. Right now before he <br />can issue a building permit, the State is requiring him to go out and make apre-site visit. He said this <br />is good because he will see the condition before. Enforcement wise in that 3 month period they issued <br />18 appearance tickets and those tickets resulted in $2,000 in fines. <br />Highway Superintendent Marshall was not present at this time. <br />
