A Public Hearing on the proposed 1998-99 Village budget was held
on Wednesday, April 8, 1998 at 7:00 P.M. in the American Legion
Hall.

Present: Mayor Belding, Tr. DiDomizio, Tr. Juliano, Tr. Lawrence,
Tr. Hinzmann, Tr. Hemingway, Tr. Goebel & Atty. Vig!otti.

Notice of said Hearing published in W.S.D. News on 4-5-98.

Mayor Belding reported preliminary meetings have commenced and
there wasn't much to report as major departments have not presented
Droposals.. He said the current draft, while still preliminary,
reflects a decrease from the initial draft, or about 2.50% (which
would have reflected an increase of 29.10%.) He said the tax base,
as shown, reflects what appears to be shown in the final assess-
ment roll subject to confirmation from the Assessor.
Mayor Belding said some points to note were as follows:

a. the draft, being only preliminary, does not as yet reflect any
substantive cuts;

b. The building account,(A-1620.43) reflects an assort ment of
proposed improvements to the Village hall still to be evaluated.

c. The Lake committee requested allocation (A7230.4) is substant-
ially higher than the appropriation this past year; (the library
has also requested additional funding, (A7410.4).

d. The sewer line (A8120.4) reflects a proposal for additional
equipment.

Since no one at the Hearing voiced an opinion pro or con said budget,
Tr. DiDomizio made a motion, seconded by Tr. Goebel that we Qro-
ceed with the regular order of business. Carried.

Minutes:

Corrected copies of the minutes of the last regular Village Board
meeting, held March 11, 1998, had been duplicated and previously
presented to Board members.

Motion by Tr. DiDomizio, seconded by Tr. Lawrence that the corrected
minutes be accepted as presented. Carried.

Communications:

Village Justices reports and summary of Zoning fees collected for
March, 1998 on file at the Village Hall..

Motion by Tr. DiDomizio, seconded by Tr. Hemingway to accept above
reports. Carried.
