A Public Hearing was held on Wednesday, December 9, 1998 at
7:00P.M. in the American Legion Hall.

Mayor Belding announced the purpose of the Hearing was to
introduce a local law which would amend Chapter 143 of the
Vehicle and Traffic section of the Village Code, specifically
creating new parking zones in the Oak Park area and
legalizing certain existing signs in and around Imperial
Plaza.

Att. Viglotti reviewed local law stating Section 143.50
entitled "Schedule Xll: Parking prohibited at all times"
shall be amended as follows:

south Gilmore Boulevard, south side, entire length.
North Gilmore Boulevard, north side, entire length
Oak Park Terrace, east side, entire length.
Pag~i Terrace, west side, entire length.

He said, since work was still progressing in the development,
the Mayor should issue an Executive order which would
temporarily suspend the Snow ordinance on these 4 streets,
until further order of the Board.

Resident of 33 Gilmore Blvd N. inquired if law was bein~
changed because the residents of Oak Park asked that it-be
done.

Tr,.Hemingway said it was the feeling of the majority of the
residents who attended the last Board meeting and the meeting
held at the Firehouse. He said they were redoing sidewalks
and curbing in the area and, if vehicles parked on same, they
would soon be destroyed.

several residents in attendance expressed concern with snow
removal operations and they were assured it would be carried
out satisfactorily.

The majority of the residents in attendance favored the
change in the parking regulations.

Mr. John Kernoghan addressed hearing saying he has been a
taxpayer for the last 26 yrs. and if Oak Park residents were
exempt from the snow ordinance, other residents were being
discriminated against.

Mayor Belding replied his comments will be taken under
advisement.

Tr. Juliano said Oak Park residents have a specific problem
and this was being dealt with.

Mr. Visentin said residents on West and East Main streets
have the same problem.
