MINUTES FROM THE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS MEETING HELD 5/9/17

Present: Allen Firstenberg, Chairman, Bridget Gannon, Rachel DiGrazia, Heidi Murphy
and Loretta Ayers-Holloway

Absent: Frank Barresi

Others Present: Tracey Diehl

Ms. Gannon made a motion to approve the minutes from the April meeting, seconded by Mrs.
DiGrazia. Unanimously carried.

SKECHERS RETAIL OUTLET, 1701 ROUTE 9
First on the agenda was the public hearing on the request of Tracy Diehl representing 93
NYRPT, LLC regarding signage for a proposed Skechers Retail Outlet to be located at 1701
Route 9. The walls sign does not conform to the Zoning Code. According to Section 151-25(J)
of the Zoning Code you are only allowed 1 sq. ft. of sign per linear foot of building face up to a
maximum of 80 sq. ft. per tenant sign. You have 55 ft. of frontage – therefore allowing you a
maximum sign of 55 sq. ft. – and you are requesting a sign that is 139.87 sq. ft. – therefore an
84.87 sq. ft. area variance is needed. The property is located in a CMU(1) zoning district as site
exceeds 125,000 sq. ft. and is not included in the Historic Overlay District.

Ms. Tracey Diehl from the sign company was present. It was stated that the public hearing could
not be open because applicant had not properly executed the legal notices. The next meeting
would be held on June 6, 2017.

Ms. Gannon made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Mrs. Murphy. Meeting was
adjourned at 7:42 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

_________________________________________
MARY ANN LONCTO, Secretary
Zoning Board of Appeals

mal
