MINUTES OF THE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS MEETING HELD JUNE 6, 2017

Present: Allen Firstenberg, Chairman, Bridget Gannon, Vice Chair, Rachel DiGrazia,
Heidi Murphy, Loretta Ayers-Holloway and Mary Ann Loncto, Secretary

Absent: Frank Barresi and Lou Viglotti, Attorney

Others Present: Tara Diehl

Meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m.

SKECHERS RETAIL OUTLET, 1701 ROUTE 9
First on the agenda was the public hearing on the request of Expedite the Diehl representing 93
NYRPT, LLC regarding signage for a proposed Skechers Retail Outlet to be located at 1701
Route 9. The wall sign does not conform to the Zoning Code. According to Section 151-25(J)
of the Zoning Code you are only allowed 1 sq. ft. of sign per linear foot of building face up to a
maximum of 80 sq. ft. per tenant sign. You have 55 ft. of frontage – therefore allowing you a
maximum sign of 55 sq. ft. – and you are requesting a sign that is 139.87 sq. ft. – therefore an
84.87 sq. ft. area variance is needed. The property is located in a CMU(1) zoning district as site
exceeds 125,000 sq. ft. and is not included in the Historic Overlay District. Ms. Tara Diehl from
Expedite the Diehl was present. It was stated that there is a consent form on file from the owner
allowing Expedite the Diehl to represent them.
