A Public hearing on a proposed local law amending Local Law <br />No. 3 of 1998 was held on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999 at 7:20 PM <br />in the American Legion Hall. <br /> <br />Atty. Viglotti said law pertained to parking restrictions on <br />Givans Ave. and it was recommended that the time frame be <br />amended to read "No parking on the west side of the street <br />from 6:00 PM to 7:00 AM" (entire length). <br /> <br />Tr. Hemingway said an interested party was enroute to Hearing <br />and same delayed to discuss communications. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br /> <br />Village Justices' reports and Summary of Zoning fees <br />collected for January, 1999 on file at the Village Hall <br /> <br />Letter from Marcus J. Molinaro, Mayor of Tivoli, inviting <br />Village officials and residents to participate in this year's <br />"Tivoli Day" festivities to be held June 19, 1999. Copies <br />forwarded Board members, Recreation and Police. <br /> <br />Letter from Charleen Brundage, Managing agent for Wappingers <br />Falls Owners Corp.. in reference to the abandoned house next <br />to the complex and behind the Hess station. She says she has <br />received numerous complaints from residents concerning the <br />house being full of debris and kids going in and out all day. <br />Ms. Brundage said house poses a potential fire hazard to the <br />Community. She said same has been reported to the Building <br />Inspector who advised that owner.couldn't be contacted and <br />requested help in an effort to remedy the situation. Copies <br />forwarded Board and Zoning. <br /> <br />Atty. Vi~lotti discussed procedures we could follow in <br />accordance with our Zoning Code and he said, if we acquired <br />property for taxes, cost for fees, demolition and site <br />security would be inhibitive. <br /> <br />Tr. Juliano said this involved a safety factor and inquired <br />if we couldn't board up building to protect the public. <br /> <br />Atty. Viglotti said procedure in securing building is to cite <br />owner for lack of security and, once person is cited, they <br />are brought to court and the end result is acquiring a Court <br />Order to secure building. <br />He said Code goes from citing owner to take remedial steps to <br />secure bldR., to the Village stepping in and, in drastic <br />cases, demolishing bldg., which would probably be the best <br />solution in this case. <br /> <br />Tr. Lawrence recommended seeking assistance on a State or <br />County level as Dutchess County Health could issue a <br />citation. He said. with a gasoline station in the vicinity, a <br />public health and safety hazard existed. Tr. Lawrence said he <br /> <br /> <br />
