Continuation of a Public Hearing on a proposed local law <br />which would amend parking regulations on Givans Ave. and a <br />portion of West Main Street was held on Wednesday, March 10, <br />1999 at 7:15 P.M. in the American Legion Hall. <br /> <br />Atty, Viglotti said proposed law would amend Local Law #3 of <br />1998 regarding parking regulations on Givens Ave. as follows: <br /> <br />On the east side of Givans Ave. - parking is allowed from <br />7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. <br /> <br />On the west side of Givans Ave. - parking is allowed from <br />6:00 PM to 7:00 AM. <br /> <br />Also, Section 153-56 of the Code shall be amended such that <br />all time limits referencing 10 minutes shall be amended to <br />15 minutes parking and this would also pertain to the <br />30'section in front of Plaza Pharmacy on west Main Street. <br /> <br />No one present voiced an opinion pro or con on said local <br />law. <br /> <br />Correspondence: <br /> <br />Trustee Hinzmann read letter from Mr. Anthony Campilii, <br />president of the Grinnell Library Board, expressing their <br />thanks to the Village for our support in obtaining the <br />$23,000. Community Development grant to complete handicapped <br />renovation projects at the Library and their desire to meet <br />with the Library Committee to discuss their plans for this <br />year and next, and their 1999 budgetary requests. <br /> <br />she encouraged people to continue to give donations to the <br />Library as they have many great programs available such as <br />assisting senior citizens with tax returns and implementing a <br />new story hour for parents with small children. <br /> <br />Invitation received from Commanders of the American Legion <br />and VFW for Village officials and residents to participate in <br />the Memorial Day services and parade to be held on May 31, <br />1999, commencing at 9:00 AM. <br /> <br />Tr. Juliano said he travelled to S. Daytona on 3-1-99 and <br />wanted to make the Board aware of a Citizens Alert <br />Neighborhood Watch program which he was introduced to and <br />read excerpts of a newsletter which outlined the various <br />aspects of the program. <br />He said he will submit a report to the Board at a later date. <br /> <br />Public Hearing closed 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br /> <br />
