8-11-99 <br /> <br />.A Public Hearing on a proposed local law entitled "Local Law <br />for Flood Damage Prevention in the Village of Wappingers <br />Falls, N.Y." was held on August 11, 1999 at 7:15 P.M. in the <br />American Legion Hall. <br /> <br />No one present voiced an opinion for or against said local <br />law. <br /> <br />Public hearing closed 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />The regular August meeting of the Mayor and Village Board of <br />Trustees followed said Hearing. <br /> <br />Roll call: <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Belding, Tr. Juliano, Tr. Cerino, Tr. <br />Lawrence, Tr Davis and Atty. Viglotti. <br /> <br />Trustees Hinzmann and Hemin~ay absent due to vacations. <br /> <br />AGENDA: <br /> <br />ACTION ON PROPOSED LOCAL LAW: <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Lawrence, seconded by Tr. Davis that the <br />proposed local law regarding Flood Prevention Control be <br />enacted, carried. <br /> <br />(Text of local law appears in the official Local Law book and <br />will be sent General Code Publishers for insertion in the <br />Village Code) <br /> <br />REPORT ON VILLAGE HALL: <br /> <br />Tr. Juliano said above subject previously discussed at the <br />workshop session and read a copy of letter sent to the <br />Attorney General's Office from our Village Attorney which <br />says the Village currently rents the building from Community <br />Services who received an EQBA Bond Act grant towards the <br />purchase of the old Post Office. The landlord/owner has <br />agreed to deed building to the Village upon the satisfaction <br />of financial obligations and repayment of debt to the State. <br />He said Community Services also has an outstanding loan other <br />than the grant. Tr. Juliano said we propose to receive grant <br />($150,000.) on behalf of the Village, satisfy the outstanding <br />debt to Community Services and go on to own building. <br /> <br />He said on a 20 year note at 10%, monthly payment would be <br />$995.00. and said if the grant can be transferred and we <br />satisfy the loan, it would be more reasonable than what we <br />are now paying and we would own the building. <br /> <br /> <br />
