The regular October meeting of the Mayor and Villaqe Board of <br />Trustees was held following said Hearing: <br /> <br />Roll call: <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Belding, Tr. Juliano, Tr. Cerino, Tr. <br />Lawrence, Tr. Hinzmann, Tr. Hemin~way, Tr. Davis and Atty <br />Viglotti. <br /> <br />REPORT ON AT&T/MEDIA ONE MERGER: <br /> <br />Diane Rainey, representative of Media One, addressed meetinq <br />stating that~ on May 6, 1999, the two companies entered into <br />agreement whereby Media One Group Inc. will mer~e into a <br />wholly owned subsidiary corporation of AT&T. She said that, <br />while Media One parent company will cease to exist after the <br />merger, the existing Media One subsidiary , which currently <br />holds the franchise , will not change and will continue to be <br />responsible for all obligations contained in the franchise <br />and local management and employees of Media One will remain <br />in place. <br />Mrs. Rainey said she believes that the proposed merger with <br />AT&T will bring a number of benefits to MediaOne customers <br />and its well known brand name and its commitment to customer <br />service will provide important additional resources <br />including a high speed Internet service. She said change of <br />control of a cable television franchise is ~overned by <br />Federal law and the VillaGe would have 120 days to review the <br />information and act on the application; if no action is taken <br />within that period, consent will be deemed Granted. <br />Mrs. Rainey thanked the Mayor and Board, on behalf of Media <br />One, for the opportunity to serve the Community and, to~ether <br />with AT&T, look forward to continuing this relationship in <br />the future and, should we have any questions, to call her. <br /> <br />Mayor BeldinG thanked Mrs. RaineY for her presentation. <br /> <br />MINUTES: <br /> <br />Tr. Cerino said there was one correction to the minutes on <br />page 6 regardinq a clogged drain at 135 West Main Street. <br />Minutes read resident at 135 West Main St. complained about <br />accumulation of water in street resultlnq from clogged drain <br />and should read resident across the street was the <br />complainant and the problem existed on the premises at 135 <br />West Main St. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Lawrence, seconded by Tr. Hinzmann that the <br />minutes be accepted as corrected. Carried. <br /> <br />ACTION ON PROPOSED LOCAL LAW; <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Cerino, seconded by Tr. Davis that the above <br /> <br /> <br />
