A voting meeting of the Mayor and Village Board of Trustees <br />was held on March 1, 2000, at 7:00 P.M. in the American <br />Legion Hall. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Belding, Tr. Juliano, Tr. Cerino, Tr. <br />Lawrence, Tr. Hinzmann, Tr. Hemin~way and Tr. Davis. <br /> <br />The first item to be discussed was the condition of the roof <br />at the W.T. Garner Engine House, which is in dire need of <br />repair, and the drainage from same. <br />It was reported this condition has existed for some time and <br />Tr. Davis recommended both houses coming up with a <br />maintenance schedule and report back to the Fire Committee so <br />that repairs can be made on an annual basis. <br /> <br />Above matter previously refe~med to the Fire Committee and <br />they will make report at the next regular meeting as to'the <br />course of action to be taken. <br /> <br />Tr. Cerino read a memo which will be sent Village residents <br />outlinin~ benefits of the Service Awards program and the <br />projected costs to the taxpayers. <br />He said, if adopted, this charge wouldappear as a separate <br />line item on the tax bill and the monies will be eaxxf, arked <br />for this program. <br /> <br />Tr. Juliano introduced two residents who wanted to address <br />Board concerning enforcement of the Snow Removal law. <br /> <br />Mrs. Smith, resident of Roy Ave., said she received summons <br />for a violation of the Time Limit removal but a couple of <br />items needed clarification; the Officer who witnessed the <br />violation was not the same-Officer who issued the ticket and <br />she questioned the Coumt appearance ~date. She also inquired <br />as to why this statute was now beinE strictly enforced? <br /> <br />Tr. Davis said he didn't know the specifics,-but the Officer <br />has the prerogative of choosing the Court date. <br /> <br />Tr. Juliano said he believes some of the su~-~nonses issued <br />were not legal as one Officer inspected the properties and <br />another Officer issued the issued the summons. <br /> <br />The law reads "Snow and ice shall be removed from the <br />sidewalk within 2~ hours after the end of a snow fall". <br /> <br />Tr. Davis said the above shoud be referred to the Police <br />Committee for clarification, <br /> <br />Barbara Allen, resident of Roy Ave., said she also received a <br />s~,~ons but pleaded not guilty. <br /> <br />Tr. Davis stated that, at a previous Village Board meeting, <br />some of the merchants had advised that too many people <br /> <br /> <br />
