A Public Hearing on the proposed 2000-2001 Village budget was
held on Wednesday, April 12, 2000 at 7:00 P.M. in the
American Legion Hall.

Mayor Belding said they were still working on proposed budget
and same wont be finalized until a later date. He said final
budget must be adopted by May 1, 2000 and, as it now stand,
tax rate would be set at $1~8.25 per thousand.

Tr. Juliano said, if all budget requests submitted by
department heads were approved, tax rate would be $153.00 per
thousand. He said, through budget cuts, rate was reduced to
$1~8.25 per thousand and will be lowered further until a
concurrence is reached.

Mayor Belding asked if anyone in the audience had any
questions pertaining to proposed budget.

Tr. Juliano reported the Firemens' Benefit proposal,
previously adopted, will amount to a 6.6% increase in the tax
rate or $7.50 to $8.00 per thousand and, if this was added to
last year's rate of $108.00, this year's tax rate would have
increased to $116.00 per thousand. He said tax rate for 1992-
93 was $119.00 compared to the lower rate of $108.00 per
thousand in 1999.-

Tr. Cerino said figures could be deceiving as 1992 was prior
to Residential Garbage being a separate charge.

Hearing left open for comments and communications for the
regular meeting were read in the interim.

COMMUN I CAT IONS:

Village Justice reports and Zoning fees collected for March,
2000 on file at the Village Hall.

Motion by Tr.
