The regular meeting of the Mayor and Village Board of Trustccs was held on <br />Wednesday, March 8, 1995 at 7:30 P.M. in the Village Hall. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Hinm~ann, Tr. Cerino, Tr. DiDcmizio, Tr. Traver, Tr. Shay, <br />Tr. Hemingway, Tr. Goebei ~nd Atty. Kaplan. <br /> <br />Also present: Police Cu~issioner Te~williger and Supt. of Public ~brks Marshall. <br /> <br />.A~enda; <br /> <br />Report on Lam~scaping bids: <br /> <br />Clerk reported the following bids were received and publicly opened and read on <br />March 1, 1995 at 2:00 P.M.: <br /> <br />Loose Landscaping: <br />Southern Dutchess Landscaping <br />Anston Construction: <br />River Valley Property Maintem~nnce <br />Landscape Maintenance <br /> <br />$13,200. <br />15,200. <br />12,500. <br />11,340. <br />10,500. <br /> <br />Mr. Marshall reported low bidder is fully insured and aware of the scope of the <br />work. <br /> <br />Discussion followed on bid proposals and it was suggested that we check refer- <br />ences as to the quality of work of the low bidder. <br /> <br />It was determined %hat his ~Drk in this arma was satisfactory. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Goebel, seconded by Tr. Traver that the low bid from Landscape <br />3~aintenance,~in the amount of $10,500. b~ accepted. Carried. <br /> <br />Report on A-I Builders: <br /> <br />Mr. Robert Alfonso, owner of the proposed project %0 be constructed in Oak <br />Park, addressed mccting stating he %~as seeking Board approval for a detenkion <br />pond at the site and was requesting the Village *~ maintain same. <br /> <br />Tr. Traver reported he has studied issue and the positive aspects outweigh the <br />negakive in that affordable housing would be constructed on a site that was <br />literally a dump prior. <br />He said the only negative side would be maintenance of the pond, which would <br />amount to an hour's time each week. <br />Tr. Traver reported tax base would increase substantially and he favored project <br />which, he thought, had been given peliminary approval when we granted sewer <br />hook up. <br /> <br />Mr. Alfonso reperted letter has been received frc~ Insurance Company stating <br />fencing the area was not necessary, only the ~Dosting of signs. <br /> <br />Tr. Traver rerported, f~ the engineer's point of view, poD~t will work and <br />will be dry most of the time. He stated, after storms, pond will drain within <br />24 hours and also it will have a negative ;~pact downstream. <br /> <br /> <br />
