DiDcmizio, Tr. Cerino, Tr. Shay, Tr. Traver, Tr.
Hemingway, Tr. Goebel and Atty. Viglotti.

Also present: Village A-~sessor Walker, Treasurer Masterson, Public Works Superintendent
.Marshall, Police Cu~,~ssioner Terwilliger and .~or Traffic Violations Cczauissioner
Lucato.

Action on ~inutes:

_~{inutes of the last regular _meeting of the Mayor and Village Board of Trustees held
November 8, 1995 had been duplicated and previously presented to Board rm~ubers.

Tr. Cerino reported correction on pg. 4 - Shoud read MHPC and not MPC.

._Motion by Tr. Traver, seconded by Tr. Cerino tb~t the above minutes be accepted as

Resolutions:

None

Agenda:

~r. Jack Kernochan addressed meeting in reference to Village's Ambulance contract
saying he had an upsetting e~.~xperience.
He said his granddaughter, who resides with him at 33 Pro_s~e?t ~St., had an attack at
School whereby she hyperventilated. Mr. Kernochan reported the School Nurse called
Sloper-Willen Ambulance and she was transported to Vassar Borthers Hospital, being
treated and released that same evening.
He said, following the incident, he received a bill frcm the Ambulance Service in
the amount of $400.00 and advised th~u he was a life m~uber of the Wm.T. Garner
Ermine Co. which has ~ a supporter of the Ambulance Service in its many activities
and also told th~m the Village has a contract with Sloper for ambulance service.
Mr. Kernochan said he was told by Ambulance personnel that Village's contract covers
only residents picked up within the c~nfines of the Village.

He said he questioned the Village supporting this terminology in the contract as
there were Village seniors and widowers who attended and participated in various
functions outside the Village limits and, should they req~]~re an ambulance, they
w~uld be liable for the charge.
Mr. Kernochan re~orted he was further advised by their personnel that there were
other municipalities whose residents were picked up within a certain radius with
extended coverage and Village should modify their agreement to include same.
He said senior citizens cannot be confined as to shopping within Village limits
as they have to seek bargains to make ends meet ~and the cost of an unexpected
ambulance call should not have to deter th~u.
