Special workshop meeting of the Village Board held Tuesday, <br />May 26, 1987 at 5:30 p.m. at the Village Offices in the <br />American Legion Hall on Spring Street. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Synnett, Trustees Alfonso, Greco, Hemingway, <br />Komornik, and Todaro; also present Fire Chief Farrell~ <br /> The Mayor stated that the purpose of the meeting was to <br />clarify the present status of the Fire Inspector appointment, <br />as there was a number of requests for inspections for certi- <br />ficates of occupancy. <br /> <br /> Chief Farrell stated that the candidate he had expected to <br />appoint was unable to accept the position and that he had been <br />filling in in the interim - ~ . . <br /> <br /> Discussion followed on the erstwhile position/s of <br />multiple residence inspector/enforcement officer. <br /> <br /> Former Fire Inspector Galioto~sited_the.~s~ate2'~quirem~nts <br />for training. Att'y Viglotti made reference to the qualifica- <br />tions requirements as set forth in the Executive Law. <br /> <br /> Chief Farrell stated that he was willing to go to the <br />training schools when offered. <br /> <br /> Further discussion followed on the workload involved; <br />Chief Farrell expressed some reservations due to time constraints. <br /> <br /> The Mayor suggested the possibility of contacting <br />adjoining townships for assistance until the position could be <br />filled; and contacting the other villages~as to what their <br />procedure was. <br /> Att'y Viglotti stated that sin6e Nappingers Falls was the <br />largest village in the county, he doubted if the others had <br />developed more specialized procedures. <br /> <br /> Trustee Alfonso contacted Deputy Chief Lyons who agreed <br />to fill in temporarily. <br /> <br /> The Mayor introduced Mr. Pacio as the new Assistant Zoning <br />Administrator. <br /> Mr. Pacio said that he was not fully familiar wit~ what <br />the job entailed, but would try it for a couple of months since <br />he was recently retired and was not interested in full-time <br />employment. <br /> <br /> The Treasurer-designate made a number of recommendations <br />regarding purchasing practices, a fixed asset inventory by the <br />various department heads to identify needs, and budgeting <br />modifications to identify actual net costs per service. <br /> <br /> Motion by Trustee Greco, seconded by Trustee Alfonso to <br />continue out-going Treasurer Campilii as a consultant during <br />the transition period for the next couple of months. - carried. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 6:25 p.m. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> <br />
