Special meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on 10-21-87 <br />at 7:00 P.M. in the Village Hall. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Synnett, Tr. Greco~ Tr. Cra~t~ Tr. Komornik, Tr. ~osecco, <br />Tr. Hemingway~ Tr. Breglia and Atty. Viglotti. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett discussed the status of the Senior Citizen's Center. <br />He stated they were d ixected by the Knights of Columbus~ to withdraw <br />from their location and programs had been discontinued for over a month. <br />Mayor Synnett reported they were interested in starting a Dec,Care <br />Center for seniors and urged endorsement from the Village for this <br />type of program and a continuation of funding. <br /> <br />The Village Board in favor of this c~mitment and will be made part of <br />the following resolution: <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Greco~ seconded by Tr. Komornik that the Village endorse <br />a Day Care Center for Seniors and that the balance of $591.78 in the <br />funding of the Recreation for the ElderLy Program be transferred to <br />this project and next year~s funding of $1,0000. be designated for the <br />same purpose. Carried. <br /> <br />Mr. John E. Railing addressed meeting relative to his xequest for a <br /> rezoning of part of Wenliss Park on Rte. 9 from R-2F to C~neral <br />Business. He displayed map and photorgraphs of the proposed development <br />in which 24 dwelling units will be removed. Mr. Jordan and Mr. Perla present. <br />Mr. Railing stated he neededagreement from the Village that something <br />could be done and would be referred to the Planning Board for recommend- <br />ations. <br /> <br />Discussion followed on drainage in the area and the feasability of a <br />drainage study. <br /> <br />Mr. Railing reported they would request Retail for the lower end and <br />office business for the upper section. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Greco, seconded by Tr. Craft that the above request <br />be referred to Planning Board for recommendations. Carried. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett appointed Trustees Craft, 6race, himself, Assessor Walker <br />and Mr. Mc(~owan to serve on an AsseHsment Committee. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett reported Blgibility list for Police Lieut. received <br />from D.C. Personnel Dept. and recommended Mr. McCord be appointed to <br />the position. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. G~eco~ seconded by Tr. Losecco that the above action <br />be ra~ified wi~ a $1,000. increase in salary. <br />Motion carried. Trustees Hemingway and Breglia abstainimg. <br /> <br /> <br />
