Adjourned meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was he~ on 1-20-88 <br />at 7:30 P.M. in the American Legion. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Synnett, Tr. Greco, T. r. Craft, Tr. Komornik~ Tr. Breglia~ <br /> Tr. Hemingway and Atty. Viglotti: <br /> <br />C~mmittee reports: <br /> <br />Public Works: <br />Mayor Synnett requested permission to purchase a nad have installe~ a <br />new electric box and riser at the Village garage. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Craft, seconded that the above request be granted. Carried. <br /> <br />He stated they will be digging up sewer line 66 Paggi Terr. on the recommend- <br />ation of the Village engineer. <br />Mayor Synnett picking up snow after recent storm and a new truck was needed. <br /> <br />Discussion followed on purchasing truck through State contract. <br /> <br />Tr. Breglia reported Village has the opportunity to purchase parcel of <br />land at 41 West Street from D.C. Commission of Finances for back taxes <br />as County has title to same. He stated property abutts the Wappingers Lake <br />and cost would be $500. plus $13.00 for filing fee~. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Breglia, seconded by Tr. Craft that authorization be <br />given to purchase above mentioned property at the given price. Carried. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnett reported a meeting has been scheduled for 1-28-88 to meet <br />with Village of Walden Manager and other officials to discuss that type <br />of government. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Hemingway~ seconded by Tr. Komornik tM t the Village Atty. <br />be directed to investigate the above type of government. Carried. <br /> <br />Mayor Synnet~ reported letter from NYSDOT .received concerning the betterment <br />o~ the Liss Road area in conjunction with proposed Rou~e 9 project. <br /> <br />Tr. Breglia reported State.would acquire the entire Stern parcel which <br />is commercial property and proposed.the following: <br /> <br />1. Install&tion of an 8 foot diameter culvert through the Route 9 embank- <br />ment north of the bridge to provide better water circulation in that part <br />of the lake. <br /> <br />2. Provide a fishing path along the embankment so~th of the bridge and along <br />the south abutment under the bridge. This item required an additional width <br />of right-of-way from the lake. <br /> <br />3. Dredging of a deep channel along the west side of the Route 9 embankment <br />equal in volume to the Lake folume that will be filled by the widening <br />of Route 9. This deeper channel will provide for more diversified fish <br />habitat. <br /> <br /> <br />
