Public Hearing on the tentative 1996-97 budget vms held on Wednesday, 3-27-96 <br />at 7:00 P.~. in the American Legion Hall. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Hinzmann, Tr. D~zio, Tr. Cerino, Tr. Traver, Tr. Hemingway, <br />Tr. Goebel, Trustee elect Marshall and Treasurer Masherson. <br /> <br />Mayor Hinzmann reported Village tax base has been reduced due, in part, to certain <br />assessment cc~,~romises which had been previously negohiated and also reduction in <br />special Franchise Assessments which included C.H., AT&T, New York Tel. & US Cable. <br /> <br />He also stated tentative budget was inflated as i% included all budge~3zy requests <br />as submitted by the various departments. <br /> <br /> Tr. Traver reported the 33.27% tax increase, as it appears in this budget, was <br />basically what it would be if all budget request were granted. <br /> He stated last year the inflated figure was at 29% and was decreased ~to 1.36% Ln <br />the fiD~l budget and our major goa~' this year was a "0" base budget. <br /> <br />Mr. Mazochi inquired if any revenues had been received frcm Imperial Plaza and Tr. <br />Traver replied 72% of these monies have been received fhrough tax liens. <br /> <br />Mr..Mazochi inquired if this would result in a tax reduction for the residents and <br />Tr. Traver replied this was being considered along with ohher proposals. <br /> <br />Discussion followed on emergency water hook up and the refurbishing of the Wenliss <br />tank and wall ~5. <br /> <br />Public Hearing closed 7:15 P.M. <br /> <br />Village Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
