Special meetln9 of the Village Board of Trustees was held on Wednesdaym ~ept. 3~ 1969 at 7:30 P.M. in the Mesler Homestead. Those present: Mayor Furnari, Tr. DiDomizio, Tr. Valentino, Tr. Bain, Tr. Fries, Tr. Cheethams Tr. Hoolihan and Atty. Lyons. Mayor Furnari asked mthat a moment of silence be observed in memory of Village Justice John A. Pantalines who recently passed away. Tr. Valentlno reported one bid received for the construction of ?00 sq. yds. of sidewalk from the J. V. Fredericks Construction Corp. in the amount of $8s750. o: $12.50 per sq. yd. He reported an alternate was submitted in the amount of $7s370. for black top sidewalk. Motion by Tr. Valentinos seconded by Tr. Bain that the Telephone Co. be notified as to an undermining condition which exists in front of LeMar Pharmacy and Highway Supt. to be contacted also. Carried. In reference to awarding contaact for sidewalk constructions the Village Bd. made the following recommendations: 1. Highway Supt. supervise pouring of concrete for sidewalks. 2. Sidewalks be reinforced with steel at entrances to Mesier Park. 3. Sidewalks should be treated with permanent sealer. 4. Alternate slabs shall be installed where long stretches of sidewalks are contemplated. Motion by Tr. Bains seconded by Tr. Fries that the bid submitted by the J.V. Fredericks Const. Corp. for the construction of sidewalks in the amount of $12.50 per sq. yd. be accepted by the V£11age. Carried. Tr. DiDomizio reported one bid received for the resurfacing of Village streets from Chief Const. Corp. which reads as follows: Nelson Ave. ext. 3500 s.y. McKinley St. 1800 s.y. Nesier Ave. N. 5000 4956.00 2328.00 6657.00 13941.OOTotal Bid Motion by Tr. Cheetham, seconded by Tr. Hoolihan that the above bid be accepted by the Village. Carried.
