The regular meeting of the Mayor and Village Board of Trustees was held on <br />Wednesday, May 14, 1997 at 7:30 P.M~ in the ~nerican Legion Hall at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Belding, Tr. DiD~zio, Tr. Cerino, Tr. Marshall, Tr. Lawrence, <br />Tr. Hemingway, Tr. Goebel and Atty. Viglotti. <br /> <br />Also present: Treasurer Masterson, Supt. Marshall, Lt. Birdsell, Zoning Officer <br />Alfonso, Water Co~missioner Travis, Lake Chairman Wayne Thompson, Traffic Ticket <br />Cu'~issioner Lucato. <br /> <br />Minutes: <br /> <br />M/nutes of the last regular meeting held on April 9, 1997 had bacon duplicated <br />and previously presonted to Board members. <br /> <br />Tr. Cerino cited various words which were misspelled throughout the text of the <br />minutes. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Goebel, seconded by Tr. Cerino that the above minutes be accepted <br />as corrected. Carried. <br /> <br />A~enda - <br /> <br />Re~ort on Zoning Amendment: <br />Planning Board Chairman Visentin addressed Board stating proposal was made in the <br />Reoodification regarding Section 151-10H which states: <br /> <br />"Two (2) or more uses on the same lot. All zoning areas with the exception of Plazas <br />are not allowed to have more than one (/~ use per lot". <br /> <br />He said Village Board had sent a letter to Dutchess Plannihg Department asking <br />their recc~mendation and th~z, in turn, called Mr. Visen~_~n requesting his <br />opinion and he reiterated t~ had not been asked, but the Planning Board %~uld <br />review same and give a r~tion at their next meeting. <br /> <br />Mr. Visen~n rec~nded the following: <br /> <br />"When more than one permitted principal use is re~lested for a lot, a Special <br />Use permit is required. Such special permits will be granted by the Planning <br />Board notwithstanding Section 151.17 (c). However, the Planning Board in <br />considering such special use permits shall give consideration %o and make <br />findings in accordance with the conditions found in Section 151.17 (c) (4) <br />a-e." <br /> <br />He said Dutchess County c~,,[ented as follows: <br /> <br />The County encouragesmixedUSedistricts and clusteredconnercialuses in <br />close proximity to each other and near residential areas, especially in a <br />Village setting wheremany older buildings were designed for this purpose, <br />This prcmotes walkabilityandsharedparking, while discouraging linear strip <br />developmentwithmultiple access points a~d separate parking lots. <br /> <br /> <br />
