Miscellaneous meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on Wed- <br />nesday, May 22, 1968 at 7:30 P.M. in the Mesier Homestead. <br /> <br />Those present: Acting Mayor Bain~ Tr. DiDomizio~ Tr. A. Napoleon, Tr. <br />Fries~ Tr. D.O. NapOleon · Atty. Lyons. <br />Tr. Cheetbam absent. <br /> <br />Mr. Donald Synnett, Park Commissioner, addressed the Board, requesting. <br />permission to advertise for bids fo~ repairs to porch and bathrooms in the <br />Mesier Park. <br /> <br />Motion by Tr. Fries~ seconded by Tr. D.O. Napoleon that the above request <br />be granted. Carried. <br /> <br />Discussion followed on installation of a new Police sign in the Mesier <br />Park and Tr. D.O. Napoleon reported he would contact Telephone Co. for <br />the laying of wire for the sign. <br /> <br />Petitions: None. <br /> <br /> Communications: <br />Letter of Invitation was read from Mr. Ken Jennings f~r Village Officials <br />.to attend opening day ceremonies of the American Legion Rookie League aS <br />James J. Temple Memorial Field on June 2, 1968 at 1:30 O.M. Wappingers <br />team will host Cornwall team. Filed. <br /> <br /> Invitation was read from the Town of Fishkill fOr Village o~ficials to be <br /> Present at the dedication of the Town of ~ast Fishkill office building~ <br /> Rte. 376~ Hopewe11 Junction, N.Y.~ Saturday~ June 8th at 11:30 AM. Filed. <br /> <br /> Copy of a letter from Mr. Robert P. Carter to Mr. Haubennestel was read' in <br /> reference to South Road Sand & Gravel, Inc.~ Bond #P36-80-96. They report <br /> they have submitted this matter to their company as a claim and it is now <br /> in their hands for processing. <br /> Mr,. Haubennestel reported bond and permit expires May 25th and he has <br /> consulted with Village Attorney and will abide by his advise. <br /> He stated job is not more than 60 per cent complete. <br /> <br /> Atty. Lyons reported there will be a meeting tomorrow on above. Letter filed. <br /> <br /> Letter was read from N.Y,S. Dept. of Transportation 'in reply to Clerk's <br /> letter. They report they have just restriped West Main St. and have offset <br /> the center line 2 feet to permit better traffic flow. They denied request <br /> for a double line on South Ave. stating that to accede same would practic- <br /> ally place the double barrier marking for the entire length of their high- · <br /> way system . Copy of ,letter forwarded Highway Comm. and original filed. <br /> Letter was read from N.Y.$. Dept. of Transportation concerning repair of s ide- <br /> walk on the bridge and the repaying of Rte. 9D in the Village. Copy of <br /> letter forwarded Highway Comm. <br /> <br /> Tr. Fries recommended contacting the State concerning edges of pavement <br /> along South Ave.~ as to thickness. <br /> <br /> <br />
