Miscellaneous meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on Wed- nesday, May 22, 1968 at 7:30 P.M. in the Mesier Homestead. Those present: Acting Mayor Bain~ Tr. DiDomizio~ Tr. A. Napoleon, Tr. Fries~ Tr. D.O. NapOleon · Atty. Lyons. Tr. Cheetbam absent. Mr. Donald Synnett, Park Commissioner, addressed the Board, requesting. permission to advertise for bids fo~ repairs to porch and bathrooms in the Mesier Park. Motion by Tr. Fries~ seconded by Tr. D.O. Napoleon that the above request be granted. Carried. Discussion followed on installation of a new Police sign in the Mesier Park and Tr. D.O. Napoleon reported he would contact Telephone Co. for the laying of wire for the sign. Petitions: None. Communications: Letter of Invitation was read from Mr. Ken Jennings f~r Village Officials .to attend opening day ceremonies of the American Legion Rookie League aS James J. Temple Memorial Field on June 2, 1968 at 1:30 O.M. Wappingers team will host Cornwall team. Filed. Invitation was read from the Town of Fishkill fOr Village o~ficials to be Present at the dedication of the Town of ~ast Fishkill office building~ Rte. 376~ Hopewe11 Junction, N.Y.~ Saturday~ June 8th at 11:30 AM. Filed. Copy of a letter from Mr. Robert P. Carter to Mr. Haubennestel was read' in reference to South Road Sand & Gravel, Inc.~ Bond #P36-80-96. They report they have submitted this matter to their company as a claim and it is now in their hands for processing. Mr,. Haubennestel reported bond and permit expires May 25th and he has consulted with Village Attorney and will abide by his advise. He stated job is not more than 60 per cent complete. Atty. Lyons reported there will be a meeting tomorrow on above. Letter filed. Letter was read from N.Y,S. Dept. of Transportation 'in reply to Clerk's letter. They report they have just restriped West Main St. and have offset the center line 2 feet to permit better traffic flow. They denied request for a double line on South Ave. stating that to accede same would practic- ally place the double barrier marking for the entire length of their high- · way system . Copy of ,letter forwarded Highway Comm. and original filed. Letter was read from N.Y.$. Dept. of Transportation concerning repair of s ide- walk on the bridge and the repaying of Rte. 9D in the Village. Copy of letter forwarded Highway Comm. Tr. Fries recommended contacting the State concerning edges of pavement along South Ave.~ as to thickness.
