Regular meeting <br />August l~, 1969 <br /> <br />Those present: <br /> <br />of the Village Board of Trustees was held on WednesdaM, <br />at 7:30 P.M. in the Mesier Homestead. <br /> <br />Mayor Furnari, Tr. DiDomizio, Tr. Fries, Tr. Vslentino, Tr. <br />Bain, Tr. Hoolihan and Attorney Lyons. (John Cheetham on <br />vacation) Josephine Cerino t,_ktngminutes for Village Clerk <br />Leo Lowney who is on vacation. <br /> <br /> Meeting cad_led to order by Mayor F~rnari who requested that there be <br />two additions to agenda: 1) Request of Wappingers C.A.T.V. Inc.-Highway Display <br />to be heard this evening and 2) Appointment of Board of Appeals m~mber as Peter <br />S~n~ilippo's term is expiring. Also, the request from Village Engineer Vincent <br />K~lley to consider survey of easement regarding drainage on South Avenue (Val- <br />achovic property). <br /> <br /> Mr. Harry Mangold explained that the ViLlage consider the request of <br />U.S. Cablevision-HighwayDisplay to change stock ownership to Wappingers C.A.TV, <br />Inc. which is backed and staffed by Beacon C.A.TV. They are preparing for <br />closing which is to be held before September 1, 1969. Mr. Vic Blair in response <br />to various questions asked stated that work on the new antenna is about 90~ <br />completed and work should be completed in ~bout two weeks. This should provide <br />a better picture. Channel 12 should get started in the near future. Discussion <br />on committee formed ensued, as ~.11 the Trustees have had their share of calls on <br />bad reception. Mr. Harry C~lhoun stated al~ work on TV cable was halted in June <br />1968 by F.C.C. and in June 1969 Wappim~ers Fells was the first in the country to <br />get TV cable. Mr. Calhoun also stated they were going to assume all obligations <br />of existing contract. He also stated that within 60 days of closing, youwill <br />see something of Channel 12. It is elreadybudgeted in first year, and it will <br />be completely separate and in Wappingers. Room is already. Equipment has to <br />be purchased and installed. As far as the co,.~ittee, the third person to be <br />named should be someone who has a technical background and is f_~am~liar with this <br />field. <br /> <br /> Attorney Lyons suggested that perhaps a letter could be sent to all sub- <br />scribers advising them who to contact in case of any difficulty. Mr. C~Shoun <br />advised they already have a letter but will work this out with the Village, <br />immediately after closing. He further stated the intention is to take over the <br />existi~ franchise and improve it. He also stated theywould like to find office <br />space in Wappingers and was referred to check with Col. Haubennestel. He stated <br />that Town of East Fishkill is signing nextweek, and the Town of Wappinger on <br />August 25. The closing should be prior to the end of August. <br /> <br /> Trustee Hoolihan made motion, seconded by Trustee Fries to go into regular <br />order of meeting. <br /> <br /> Minutes of last regular meeting held July 9, 1969 had been duplicated and <br />previously presented to Village Board members. Motion by Trustee DiDomizio, <br />seconded by Trustee Bain that above minutes be accepted sm duplicated. Conference of Mayors regarding Annual Training <br />School for City and Village Fiscal Officers and Clerks. <br /> Letters read fromN.Y.S. Dept. of Transportation and MiltonCh~zenAssoc. <br />regarding Drainage problem, Valachovic property, South Avenue. Trustee Fries <br />made motion, seconded by Truwtee Bain, that this be taken~up· in executive session. <br />Carried. '~.. <br /> <br /> <br />
