Adjourned meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on Tuesday, May 16, <br />1967 at 7:50 P.M. in the Mesier Homestead. <br /> <br />Those present ~ Mayor Furnaris Tr. DiDomizio, Tr. A. Napoleon, Tr. Bain, <br />Lawrence, Tr. D.O. Napoleon, Tr. Sabia and Vi/la~e Attorney J~mes Lyons. <br /> <br />Request was read from Joseph and Grace Nenni applying for a trailer permit on <br />premises at 5 McKinley St., Wappingers Falls, <br /> <br />Mr. Haubennestel reported trailer was previously installed on that property, <br />prior to zoning, thus creating a non conforming use. <br />He stated if land was vacated for one year, trailer couldn't be installed. <br />He reported seeing no objection at this time. <br /> <br />Tr. A. Napoleon inquired if this action was legal or illegal. <br />Mr. Haubennestel reportd Zoning *rd, was adopted in 1965 and five years following <br />adoption, trailers must be,removed in Village. <br /> <br />Mr, Samartino, owner of the propery, reported lot was small and this was a <br />request to transfer trailers, <br /> <br />Att. Lyons reported zoning ordinance specifies a non-conforming use over a <br />period of five years and after 1970 all trailers must be removed. <br /> <br />Mayor Furnari reported sending a letter to Mr. Sia~cori, NoY.S. Dept. of ~ublic <br />Works, concerning the State resurfacing their road running through Village and <br />read copy of same. <br />He reported talking to Mr. Wells of the Dept. of Public Works and the State.has <br />consented tp put an armor coat on their road through the north end of the <br />Village extending possibly to the bridge. <br />He eecommended Highway Dept. be alerted to raise manholes in the area by.June <br />12, 1967, date when work is.to commence. <br /> <br />Tr. Ap Napoleon reported paving would cover up water shut offs and discussion <br />followed on the ralsning of manholes. <br /> <br />Mayor hrnari reported paving progr~m would be continued next year. <br /> <br />Tr. DiDomizio recommended contacting the State concerning repairs to curbing <br />and the sidewalks on the bridge. <br /> <br />Tr. Sabia inquired what was being done about the Birkenmeyer hoUse on High St. <br />and Tro D.O. Nap&leon replied Att. MacDonald was instructed to start condem- <br />nation proeeedings several months ago° <br /> <br />Tr° A° Napoleon inquired as to the decision in the Marshall case and Att. Lyons <br />recommended this be taken up in executive session. ~ <br /> <br /> <br />
